DePaul

I just got back from my son's basketball game, and have seen the Johnnies have 4 straight horrible possessions. This game could practically be over, but the low IQ has reared its ugly head at the wrong time.

You wouldn't believe it but not that long ago we had a 17 point lead.

I turned on the tv, and we were up 63-47 with 6 minutes left.

MJ I love you but please for the sake of the team close the TV for 5 minutes.

LOL

I think we have this one now. Sampson with a nice block on the defensive end to seal it.

well all in all other than the nailbiting at the end its a good win.

Branch to me was the most encouraging thing today.

Yes, 71-62 on the road in the BE.
Big game by Branch and perhaps the best game ever for Sir Dom.
Way to go team.

Help.

I missid all of the game but the last 3 minutes.

I would appreciate if someone would be kind enough to provide me with a summary of game- who played well, who did not.

thanks.

Branch was great, love his mid range game. Was surprised to see Lavin finally bench Green, especially in his home city. Keep building on this Johnnies!!

4 players in double figures.

Perhaps 1 of the most important stats.
In order for this team to be successful we need multiple players to be in double figures. Individually we are just not that good.
This morning a solid contribution by 8 players, very, very important.

Branch's best game by far as a Johnnie. 16 points in the first half, finished with 18. Was in control of his game, had some nice pull up jumpers.

Harrison struggled from the floor, and got frustrated at times. Was clutch down the stretch with some important free throws.

Solid game from Pointer again. The guy can't shoot but seems to find a way to get points.

I'd say Sampson played well too. Has an ugly shot but seems to hit from mid-range.

Quiet game from Greene, and got about what you'd expect from Jones, Balamou. Didn't see Bourgault on the floor once.

DePaul clearly focused their defense on stopping Harrison
Branch was outstanding, led us in scoring in the first half
Pointer played an oustanding game - great intensity on defense, handled the ball well and chipped in offensively
Greene looked like he was pressing - did not have a good game
Obekpa had a scoring spurt (2 big hoops) in the second half when we needed it most
Harrison looked frustrated and too a few "chucks" in the 2nd half but ended up with double figures
In the end, it was a game of runs
DePaul pressed the whole game
They seemed to run out of gas for a few minutes in the 2nd half when we made a big run to pull ahead

Thanks mattc Mark & TIS for your replies.

Unfortunately the game was "blacked out" on ESPN3 up here in the sticks.

AG 6 points on 3/7 shooting and 5 boards.
CO 6 points on 3/3 shooting and 6 boards.

3-3 in the BE. Another road win. For those of you who had this team dead and buried last Saturday, learn something from this. Stand by your team and never underestimate Coach Lavin. He is a winner and will get it done here.

Great road win!
Branch played a terrific first half. He really keep things under control much like the ND game.
Well balanced team effort. Would have been an almost perfect 2nd half if they didn't make 5-6 bad plays in row. I know they are young and it will happen. Have to admit, I was nervous when the lead shrunk to 1 possession.
For a young team to bounce back from both two losses with the win at MSG and on the road, that is great.
All the games in the BE are close, one can only hope this will help us as the season continues. We are used to the pressure.
Again a great road win!
