@DePaul, Tue., Feb. 14, 9p, FS-1

Well, 9PM not for me, get up at 5:30 AM< and glad I went to bed at halftime so I didn't have to watch that first overtime 1-12 shooting combined. Watching Wusu's shot on replay is all I needed to see. When I woke up I knew something good happened cuz in my Sec. 114 text thread, I saw Maher's "Wusu!" at 11:21 and then OLV's text that simply said Whew!😓 meaning somehow despite playing badly we won. So, another good night's sleep.

Now reading this thread from the point the game started to the end was fascinating. I felt like I was back in Abnormal Psych class at St. John's. Between all the boos vs. kudos......the NO, NO, NO's....YES, YES, YES'es......and Broken plays vs. good plays, I could see Freud having a field day with our multiple personalities.

Must be something about Valentines Day, where SJU has to hit a 3 pointer to force overtime on the road before coming home with the W.

Dylan-Addae Wusu, welcome to Boo Harvey’s world.

I just want to thank everyone for the entertaining game thread. Between Valentining with my 3 ladies yesterday and being completely pissed off about the Islanders, I completely forgot we played last night and read from about page 6 to now.

Job well done, I laughed out loud many times and, I guess, we won!

If this game meant more than it did, it would have been one of the greatest St. John's comeback wins ever. Instead, it was like a nice after dinner drink after a horrendous meal. First time I can ever recall turning off a SJU game to watch some nonsense on Netflix. Turned on the DVR after midnight and was happy the guys came back. While it was not a big deal for the posters, it was nice to see the win was a big deal for the players.

Gotta love redmen/redfans. We win on valentines day 40% of the board is miserable 25% of the board pissed they went out with their wives or girlfriends and got sucked into the valentines pre fix bs 20% happy we won 14% didnt watch and 1% went out got lucky with last minute table and a la carte menu and got home in time and watched the game uninterrupted

I'm happy to be a 1%'er :)

Lots of things we didn't do well last night but two we did were rebound (especially in 2nd half) and hit our free throws (which always makes me smile). 25 offensive rebounds including 6 each by Soriano and Jones and 81% from the line where we outscored Depaul by 9 points, the winning margin. Glad I suffered through the late night to see Wusu heroics.
Same here. glad watched ending last night Back to back double to games

Saying “if DePaul played it correctly” is giving zero credit to St. John’s for running a great play. I don’t think DePaul had time to safely foul wusu before going into his shooting motion. If you want to say sending wusu to the line for 3 free throws isn’t the worst strategy, no complaint there.

Who says you have to foul the shooter? It was an inbounds play could have fouled the screener Posh.

I agree that’s a good idea and not that it can’t happen, but you notice how its rarely done? An “intentional foul”, or what everyone does at the end of the game to put someone on the FT line, is supposed to be a play on the ball. Just grabbing a guy away from the basketball could risk being a non basketball play and a flagrant foul. Another risk of fouling late.
