DePaul, Tue., Dec. 17, 6:30p, Peacock

I'm a Scott fan, but everyone likes to talk about how "bad" Kadary is + how Dunlap can't shoot. Scott from 3 is 7-33 his last five games. The game against Harvard was one of the worst stat lines I've ever seen in my life: 5 fouls, 3 rebounds, 1 turnover, 0-2, 13 minutes. I was at the game and only remember him going to the bench because of constant fouling. No one talks about him the way we talk about other guys.

Fair re his recent struggles, stats. To me a differentiating factor is on a Pitino team that’s values defense so much, Scott does so, while Kadary has not.

Absolutely. Zuby and Luis have been our two best, and everyone else has been up & down -- just like him.
Yes Luis and Zuby given.
So for other 3 spots who would u pick:
A) 10.4 ppg 5.4 rpg 4.9 apg 2.5 to’s
46/25/52

B) 9.4 ppg 5.8 rpg 4.8 apg 2 to’s
45/39/65

C) 9.8 ppg 2.5 rpg 1.3 apg 1.4 to’s
54/36/92

D) 10.2 ppg 4.4 rpg 1 apg 0.6 to’s
44/30/87

B, C & D way more efficient

I think Kadary's demeanor throws people off and makes them more harsh. Kadary's flashed things offensively a lot more consistently than most of our roster. Questions of him coming off the bench aren't baked into reality.

Definitely more efficient, but I'd want to see more performances from Wilcher against top opponents before putting him ahead of Kadary. Scott's much better on defense/hustle plays, but his role of spreading the floor has basically failed outside of one game this year (granted, it was Baylor).

I also in general think Smith off the bench is better for our team. Gives us a huge energy boost and throws the opposing team off kilter. Of course we're done with that now. lol

His results are less than anticipated on both ends of court. That can change, not ready to reduce his time on court yet, but I think it is up to him to produce more in conjunction with staff figuring out best scheme to do that.

This is obviously not an NBA length season, clock is ticking as BE play commences and a guy most of us were happy to bring aboard has to be more productive sooner than later

If by demeanor you mean an aversion to hustling? If so then yes it has been off putting to say the least. I do agree that having him come off the bench is not an option due to off the court factors.

I think people did not realize how bad of a jump shooter he is. He almost makes guys we have had like Posh look like a three point threat

But notice how the defense isn’t all sagged off with 4 guys waiting for him in the paint. Hes a scoring and passing threat every time he catches it and needs to be respected as such.

If he could shoot you wouldn’t mind that. Dingle and Storr right there with him in that regard. Kadary at least battles on the boards. You can make up for shooting with points and assists. Wilcher isn’t gonna help you on the glass or get other guys shots.

So initially I thought the kansas state game was going to be the barometer for us having the season I anticipate. But I think I am looking at this game now as THE game for me.

My expectations are through the roof for this team (check out the text in one of my redmen.com text groups) and if we are going where I think we are going then my expectation for this game is a these guys are gonna take care of business in a manner they need to at home.

Cover and then some. This is the game where people's concerns of depaul being better and keeping it close need to be halted. Take care of business like I know you can guys.

I knew he couldn’t shoot. The lackadaisical play and careless turnovers have surprised me. Listen I am the last guy to rave about the intangible guys. Strawberry was my favorite player not Backman. Loved Berry not Matt Brust. But there is a certain level of giving a crap that needs to be maintained. Richmond not nearly good enough to look at loose balls like they are dog poop.

There’s the difference. Not a hustle guy, but is an intangible guy. Rebounds, deflections, assists, strength, size all a notch above Sim.
