DePaul, Tue., Dec. 17, 6:30p, Peacock

I'm a Scott fan, but everyone likes to talk about how "bad" Kadary is + how Dunlap can't shoot. Scott from 3 is 7-33 his last five games. The game against Harvard was one of the worst stat lines I've ever seen in my life: 5 fouls, 3 rebounds, 1 turnover, 0-2, 13 minutes. I was at the game and only remember him going to the bench because of constant fouling. No one talks about him the way we talk about other guys.
The difference with Scott and one reason fans cut him slack is he is a great defender and not only one on one but is always helping on defense and hustling. Yes, he sometimes fouls too much and his three point shot has been off lately for sure but he has also made some huge threes for us and is one of two guys I trust at the foul line. To me he is a much better version of Glenn Taylor who I also liked a lot. He is not a star but a glue guy. And he always hustles.

I'll always defend Glen Taylor. Thought his treatment last year was completely bizarre and still have no clue what happened.

So initially I thought the kansas state game was going to be the barometer for us having the season I anticipate. But I think I am looking at this game now as THE game for me.

My expectations are through the roof for this team (check out the text in one of my redmen.com text groups) and if we are going where I think we are going then my expectation for this game is a these guys are gonna take care of business in a manner they need to at home.

Cover and then some. This is the game where people's concerns of depaul being better and keeping it close need to be halted. Take care of business like I know you can guys.
It always seems like the next game is the barometer for this team. Even with a decisive win tonight, AT Providence on Friday night will be the next barometer. 😂

Good analogy. I had totally forgotten about Scott.

Let’s be honest. If the $ wasn’t a factor and he hadn’t played well for SH, would anyone think Richmond deserves to start? Does anyone feel he has been one of our 5 best players?

If $$$ weren't a factor would everybody be so down on Kadary, a returning 1st team all BE player? It's freakin' December. Kadary's 3rd on the team in scoring, 4th in rebounding, 1st in assists, T2 in steals, 2 in blocks, T2 in FG% and shooting 49.4% from 2. His 3pt and FT shooting woes are still issues. His FT shooting will come up no doubt. the 3 game has never been his forte, but the kid is a starter on pretty much every other team in the BE. Give it time. If he Deivon and Sim split the guard minutes evenly, maybe with a slight lean to him, that would be fair. I am a big fan of all three of them. He's the most basketball gifted of the three, Deivon athletically gifted and Sim scoring gifted. A great combo.

I think Kadary's demeanor throws people off and makes them more harsh. Kadary's flashed things offensively a lot more consistently than most of our roster. Questions of him coming off the bench aren't baked into reality.

I was going to say similar in my post but got distracted. He doesn't play a game that modern bb fans necessarily want to see. Not going to wow with anything besides passes. Not going to hit threes, but good at creating them for others, and as the stats bear out he's just fine in the mid range game. He'll get better and with it the team.

Well for me it is. I need to see it here. Go win by a nice margin and it will prove in my mind.

Have you watched the games or looking at stats? If you were dropped off here from another planet by one of the drones and saw Kadary play basketball and had no prior knowledge of him you would think he is terrible.

You have always hated that style of bully ball player. Many of us love it. Him operating anywhere from inside the the 3 pt line is one of the best plays in college basketball.

Nobody can argue the quality of his assists. He serves them up on a platter like nobody since Omar.
