Deivon Smith News

8 first half point closed the gap. Had a soectacular bounce pass assist for an easy deuce. Obviously we pushed the ball upcourt much faster with Deivon on the game.

A healthy Deivon restores our hope in this season.

Will we find out the deal? Maybe not but obviously very happy today.

Think we know the deal. Pitino (who I love) talks much caca.

So after some saying Rick was playing mind games with smith, some saying Rick was playing mind games with the rest of the team (I was in this camp), it turns out he might’ve just been playing mind games with Creighton, making them think Ashworth wasn’t going to have Dev hounding him all day long
:D

Rick plays mind games with erbody

My 2 cents. Dev is playing through some discomfort. Anyone who has ever had to play through an injury knows it can be a day-to-day thing, and also impacts in ways beyond the mere physical pain. It can impact you mentally, in what you trust or allow your body to do. It can also impact your athletic movements and form, generally, without you even being cognizant of it, because your body compensates for the injury so you don't feel the discomfort.

Pitino wants Dev out there when he can go full throttle, and not play compromised or half-throttle because of the injury.

Dev convinced him he could go over the past 2 days, and so he played today. Which was awesome, because we don't win without him, and he brings a dynamic to the team on both ends that we don't have when he's absent.

We are screwed without him With our ambitions you need two quality guards, ie KR & Dev plus a reasonable third guy. Sim fits that bill, but on this team I would like to see some consistent offensive productivity from him. He did defend and distribute fine yesterday though.

The bench guards are emergency, foul trouble players. Lefty has promise for next year w what appears to be a nice stroke and seems savvy. Yesterday ice cold he rimmed out on a jumper, can’t expect great results when sitting so long, but guess we have to play the hand we have been dealt.

As I've said before, Rick has a thing for character arcs....
