Yea, but it worked out well enough. No one ever thought we were losing this game. We won comfortably. He tinkered with lineups continually to get kids run and look at different combinations. We didn’t beat the spread and didn’t separate more early 2nd when it looked like we were going to, but it wasn’t like it was a nail biter either.Rick is trying to nip this in the bud before it becomes a bigger issue down the line. Leaving it in the players' hands makes it feel like it's a program decision and it's not the staff that are the bad guys. Whether that's how it comes off or not to Smith idk, but I'm guessing that's Rick's motivation.
Rick was likely banking on a 30 point win tonight to drive home a "We can succeed without you" message but clearly it didn't work out like that.
You don't have your worst free throw shooter on the floor, never mind receiving the inbound pass on that final possession. Your HOF coach and entire coaching staff should have been aware of it.
We can start a poll on the board!I think if Coach doesn't want to weigh in himself, he should let the season ticket holders vote or maybe, the NIL donors?

Totally agree. Particularly with us facing the speedy guard from Mich who killed us and our season last year.I suspect Pitino knows Smith will play Saturday, but is just adding some drama to the situation unnecessarily imo.
