D1 Coaching Changes
St Peters , MAAC Conference recently hired Shaheen Holloway , AC , at Seton Hall. If Mike Rice was seen as a Stud Recruiter, with contacts all over New Jersey and viewed as being as rehabilitated , why wasn’t he given a shot there . Incidentally, I don’t think Willard has filled Holloway’s slot yet , has he ? If not , maybe Rice should be considerred at Seton Hall for the AC job ? And , why not ? Maybe, he is so much in demand , he could go anywhere? But, it hasnt happened and maybe , never will. Possibly , Rice is where he belongs at this stage , Coaching in the AAU ranks and sharing his BB knowledge , which no one denies . St John’s just had a very great week. Ponds, Heron notably . To go with Figueroa in 2018 and , Carraher, Wright in 2019. Some people think Mullin may hire Rice , some don’t . Maybe he does . I dont see enough benefit from Rice snd I see a big downside . I like the current staff .
So you know for a fact he was interested in those jobs? Neither job is good or pays anything.

You are drawing a conclusion from facts you can't produce. Which is very typical of you.

I don't each chicken 3 days in a row so you conclude that means I don't likee chicken anymore. Or it can mean I wanted sonething else those days and still like chicken.
Whopper, i promise to skip yours too. That works .
Nah, I think you will peek. :)

For those who question what Richmond brings, i say this .. Mitch is a HOF player . One would think , he brings a lot to Player Development in practice , etc . Heron commented this week that he was looking forward to learning from 2 HOFamers . And , since many practices are closed , why question what Mitch does ? If Mullin is happy with him currently , why question it . Many here profess their Inside Contacts . Maybe Valid, maybe not . Let’s enjoy what happrndd this week and move on .

Good one , Chi Days . I like it . Seriously . Good job . Ever onward . It’s a good thing that none of us has any real influence on the BB Program and how it is managed . We probably would argue over what Priest should sit on the Bench .

I believe summer season starts next week, and coaches are allowed 8 hours of development per week.

Would love to know if Richmond is there developing them on Day 1.

Fordham, very few facts are posted here . We all express a opinion . I merely commented as to a Coaching job at St Peters that someone like Rice might have or , should have , an interest in . If he wants back in Coaching , why wouldn’t Mike throw his hat in every Ring ? Including St Peters .
On a side note, i was sorry to hear you dont like Chicken 3 days in a row . Fordham, 99 percent of what we read or post here , is Speculation . Or , opinions . Nothing less , nothing more . Lastly, no one likes confrontations . Although it has become a every day dimension in this World of ours .

Whopper, i might peek ar a post or 2 . I am certain you will too.. i do that with the NY Times too. Every 6 months or so, to see if they are still flogging Trump , They are .. Given your Non de Plume, i am sure many posters here, have no idea who Billy Paultz was and his career at St John’s and the Pros . It would be interesting for you to share your Rememberances of the Whopper . Seriously .
Thanks Whopper. You do know Mullin was close to Slice too? Old Xaverian buddies, weren’t they . Of course you knew that ... Hiring Friends to work for you , isn’t always a good Management Strategy . Principles of Management 101 as i recall . Have you read it ? Don’t like my posts ? Don’t read them !
It's been mentioned here that that "friendship" was overblown. There's a full three-year age difference. And Chris Mullin started at Power Memorial before heading to Xaverian.

That all may be true. But that still leaves us with one recruiter. Whether Chris is happy or not, it's a bad model.

I do think Mike Rice would offer a lot of what we need. That said, it doesn't have to be Rice. We sorely need some more experience and definitely another recruiter. It's been a great week, but we still have to keep our eye on the long game.

I would like to see Pecora join the staff. He's been around the block a few times and would pair up well with Matt.

Boy 72 you must really want the Maven to disappear permanently from the world of St. John's basketball! :cheer: :p
That hire would be the proverbial nail in the coffin.

That's funny, Sly. Yeah, we gotta laugh...and lighten up just a bit--even though i know we're all Johnnie Fanatics.

Mark, maybe we should ask Jay Wright.

Would certainly be a dilemma because the Maven loves him some Chris Mullin
