Creighton, Wed. Jan. 4, 8:30pm, FS1/570AM

Credit where credit is due, we are not going away quietly...
100% Harry Stamper tonight. I don't know if FS1 agreed, with all of their commercials for Garbage Time.

I had to Google Harry Stamper and Tambourines & Elephants... SMH.

I'll have whatever Dr. Spocky is drinking, it's good stuff! :)

Hope we can all come down to earth now keep our expectations in check and enjoy the rest of the yr Players will get better and look forward to a strong team next yr If we can keep games closer then this can hold our head ups and see improvement as the yr concludes

Indeed - I'll fire up the Next Coach thread, I hear Orlando Antigua's available

Good effort. Need some big bodies and we can compete with the Creighton's of the world.
Would not be shocked if Creighton is in Final 4

One real negative is Yakwe regression becoming alarming.

Agree that Yakwe is is going backwards. He's got bad hands, no offensive touch, and relies on his blocking ability too much. Guys are catching up to him and he isn't improving

his attitude and demeanor is completely reversed from last season where it was all effort and enthusiasm.

my negative takes on game:
1- Ali is a liability- point blank!
2- LoVett is a great scorer, but lacks being a point guard ( at least this game )
3- Ellison gives up on defense, stands there as guys lay it up
4- Ponds did not touch it enough tonight- no screens set for him
5- Mussini came in and gave us some energy, never saw him again
6- Williams...same as above
Positives:
1- Team showed guts, came back and showed toughness
2- Owens looks better and better, foul trouble hurt him
3- crowd was electric again
Overall, this is a great team....nothing to be ashamed of here, but we could of had them.

Lovett driving to basket brought us back. Threw a nice backdoor to frying pan hands, didn't work out. Tough to get a ton of assists on this team.

Owens has been the most consistent player. I still don't like him shooting those shots even though he was most of our offense doing it for stretches.

The officiating in the first half definitely hurt us. On one play, Watson threw his forearm into Yakwe who was straight up and they called foul on Yakwe. We got zero calls as far as I remember on Bashir, Ellison, Lovett or Ponds driving the lane in the first. So they just looked forced. Had we gotten some calls it would have completely changed how the game was played. As it was they could just sit back in their defense and we could do anything except throw up an occasional bad jumpshot. Second half maybe about 13 minute mark I think we finally got a call and then we made a run.

Good fight.. Yakwe = butterfingers. TO brings it.
3-0 next 3 games? Yes we lost to #10 today..However, 16 X...We beat 13 Butler. Georgetown not ranked. And Again we beat Butler who beat Nova tonight.

I am delusionally optimistic.
Great energy. The team seems to be improving IMO. Defense still soft.

Actually thought he gave us a little lift when he came back in in the second half. He at least put a body on Patton and made it a little more difficult for him. That being said they still need more from him.
