Creighton, Wed. Jan. 4, 8:30pm, FS1/570AM

I'm very upset that no one seemed very upset when Daryl Hill tore his knee up. He was tearing it up when he tore it up. He was never as good again as he was before he wasn't good because he was very better. But you guys just suck I think it is because Hill is from Queens and guys who grew up in cushy places on the North Shore can't relate. Maybe you guys just don't like queens but that's more acceptable now.

I liked Showtime but even if he didn't get hurt, Norm would have found a way to make him suck :)

Spent most of the last 40 years toiling it in Queens.

Beast agree with you. Showtime Hill became just Darryl Hill, after the Knee injury. He was never the same player again. Sad, he would have given us some thrills during a very down period for the Program. His injury must have been very severe as he could barely play after the surgery ..

Actually thought same, especially Brown.

My memory is hazy, but did a position shift to PG at some point in his career screw him up? I remember something like that happening and him never recovering.

Hurt his knee, sat out a year than Lopez was there so they tried to switch him to the point.

Thanks. I think having to focus on playmaking took away from other parts of his game, like dunking on people's heads. Not too many Class C Long Island players have made it to the big time, especially back then, but after seeing him dunk from the free throw line against Sewanhaka more than once, I expected big things.

Carey HS?

Yes

I made a mistake thinking Freudenberg could play a little stretch four this year. It became clear his abysmal shooting and slow play did not warrant anything. The game at this point is also just too fast for him in my opinion. Hopefully he gets stronger and develops in time. No one should complain about his playing time. He had his chances, but for now is out of his element.

He is also the youngest and least experienced kid on the team.
In our day Paultzman he would be on the freshmen team. ;)
He is playing nervous and once he settles down his shots should start to fall.

He had the one game on CBS his Frosh year when Louie dusted him off for a struggling Sproling. Think he hit couple threes and threw down a nice dunk that got Clark Kellog all excited. I think he scored 14 points and I became the lead member of the Derek Brown fan club. Then Louie buried him again for rest of year as was his wont when it came to freshman. Had nice Soph year with David Cain.

Syracuse at the Dome. If I'm not mistaken the last play (an out of bounds play under the Cuse basket) was designed for him. He missed. But yeah, I thought we had something very special.
