@Creighton, Tue., Dec. 31, 4p, PEACOCK

Hate to say it, I finally saw a replay, but Luis should have pulled up on the elbow after being fortunate enough to have that rebound jump back out to him. It’s a higher percentage shot for a guy like him (as opposed to coming in on 2 guys with 2 seconds left) especially after just shooting from almost the same spot. And, I’m not surprised there wasn’t a foul there. Take the jumper and it takes the ref’s whistle out of the game. Hell, Dingle got hit worse than that last season.

I can't say we deserved to win, but how ridiculous is it to get screwed 2 years on a play that's an obvious foul and the refs don't call it. There literally should be replays for this exact thing.

Strikes me that Pitino, once again (this year), is panicking less than people on the board. But also basically throws RJ under the bus for not running the play in the huddle and then messing up the follow up attempt as well.
lol, people on the board “panic” because they’ve been living this life supporting this team for 40, 50, 60 years and have seen this movie once or twice. Pitino has been here a year-plus. He’s used to prospering not losing.

Shooting over an outstretched kalkbrenner and then trying to shoot over 2 guys are considered great looks?
Take a reading lesson and take your BS elsewhere; I said IF he didn’t decide to drive into traffic. Luis had an open 3, he missed, got the tip back and had another wide open shot he passed up to drive into traffic. But, please, ignore my posts, I certainly do yours.

Luis should have pulled up earlier. But still - hose job is a hose job.
Agree re: pulled up earlier as he's shown he can make the pull-up jumper. He was probably hoping he'd get fouled, which he did. The refs wasn't gonna "bail him out" unless he got the crap knocked outta him.

To me the kick in the ass is our ladies were embarrassed by a the Creighton ladies at home who, like the Creighton men, just shot the ball better and played better as a team.
The Creighton women looked like corn fed Amazons and ours didn't look hungry enough in front of the home crowd.
Finally, why is it that the Blue Jays look like the kids in the Hoosier movie and beat us every time in Omaha???

I think he just went in too far. He was open from the foul line, that should have been his shot.

Fair or not, if he can somehow get that ball up on the glass, even if it’s not even close, he’s more likely to get that call. Everyone here can scream bloody murder, we are NEVER getting that call in Omaha the way it unfolded.

I said it on the last page, take the elbow jumper next time. He’s got a great chance hitting that after barely missing from almost the same spot.

Look at the replay. the black player from Creighton threw his whole body into him. The angle looking downcourt from their basket towards ours tells the story.
Unfortunately it was their three white players that did all the real damage.😛

Omaha has not been a happy hunting ground for us over the years, even with the students out. Crazy that our three losses are by a total of five points. I don't think Coach can use the Delaware game as an excuse.

It’s weak as hell to use the UD game as an excuse but classic Rick speak

Honestly he can say what he wants, team needs to be ready to play Saturday. One loss is just one loss if you don’t let it snowball. Get a win against a slightly frisky butler squad and let’s move on

That would be opening Pandora’s Box for sure. They’d be analyzing the crap out of every buzzer beater for the rest of time. And, you’d be hard pressed not to find some kind of contact every single time.

Obviously RP is very good HC, but even as a long suffering fan I don’t panic or lose my objectivity re strengths and weaknesses of the team. In this three point era it is clear we don’t have consistent perimeter shooters, which makes us relatively easy to prepare for and is a handicap.

Early in season LMF expressed concern about roster construction challenges, which I now agree with. Hopefully shooting improves to give us some balance. In the interim it is essential to play smart and without getting to specifics, several guys fall short on that. That is an element within every player’s control.
