Is Creighton a must win?

Of course it is., if we want to stay in 1st place in the BE and remain in the top 12-15 AP poll.

A loss , 2 in a row would raise all sorts of concerns ., With a away game at Marquette and a healthy McNeeley rematch with UCONN looming .

Better be careful with the “must win” mantra, you’ll be hounded by a multitude of posters and subsequently threatened by a moderator. I’ve replaced it with “important win” and will reserve the “must win” comment for the Big Dance.

You're probably right. I guess "must wins" refers to our seeding in the tournament. The NCAA has never been good to us, so we have to do it ourselves.

I’m be on a cruise Sunday with the SJ South Florida alumni club. There’s a watch party for the game at 3pm. Hopefully no calls of “man overboard” at 5.

Sunday game is a must if we are going to compete for the regular season title. The Bluejays remaining games are: Georgetown (H), DePaul (H), Xavier (A), Seton Hall (A) Butler (H)

Ours are: DePaul (A), Butler (H), Uconn (A), Seton Hall (H), Marquette (A)

The 2 game cushion will certainly help, especially if Scott is unavailable for the remaining 5 games......

Must win, yeah I just said it. Win this game, how ever you do it. Hopefully someone off the bench can give a freaking spark. It's mid February not November, it's time to grow up now, not next year.

Want more burn in games, well this game would be the perfect freaking time to do it.

Game is only a must win if you want the regular season championship (who doesn't?). Creighton ends the regular season with the softest schedule of all the contenders. This game could very well determine who gets the number one seed in the BET.

I missed the first game in Omaha, but seemed, from the box score and the thread, that Kalk owned the inside and really messed with our driving style offense.

Shouldn't the play be to keep Zuby on the perimeter to draw Kalk out of the lane and then let RJ and Kadary work their magic? It would seem that those two should be able to get to or near the basket anytime they want against Creighton and then Zuby can crash the offensive boards as the shot goes up. It will certainly test his motor, but I have to think Zuby is faster than Kalk and can beat him to the boards.

Our D should be able to turn Creighton over enough to create opportunities in fast breaks, but in the half court we have to pick up the shooting and hit our spots in the paint and not jack up 3's.

I think Pitino might be better going big in this game for some periods. I actually feel better with Prey on Kalkbrenner defensively than having Zuby on him. Play Zuby at the 4 and Prey at the 5 with Kadary, Scott and RJ.
