UCONN struggled with gtown for most of that game plus they lost their last 2 so although I am not back on the glass half empty train by no means, hey maybe? We know we are capable when we play well the entire game.

As unrealistic as it sounds, think Johnnies need to win 2 of next 3 against UCONN, Nova & Creighton to keep good chance of dancing alive (other than winning BET), although schedule does get easier after these games.

Doom and gloom, nah I just call it as I see it and what I’ve seen has been poor from the get go. In terms of not wanting me coaching the team, that’s a pretty dumb statement considering you know nothing about me and another year of underachieving by the current staff. 😜
No. You are “doom and gloom.” A real fan supports the team no matter what. You can be critical, especially when it’s deserved. And it’s been deserved a lot lately. But you’re all negativity. You’re not a real fan. And the reason I’m glad you’re not coaching our guys is because I can just imagine you motivating them before the game with “we don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning this game.” ;):LOL:

Any win over UCONN is at the top of my annual list. As winning up there seems like a tall order I wouldn't call a competitive loss a "moral victory" but it would give me some hope that team improvement is happening. We can see the warts and tend to accentuate them but overall the team played better versus Providence and Butler than during the very rough start to conference play.

Last year at MSG Sanago dominated Soriano, and yet Nyiwe was able to contain and frustrate him. CMA returning Soriano to the game at I believe the 8:00 minute mark cost us that game. Soriano has been a different player this year and of course now UCONN also has Clingan. Basically, Joel can't be a non-factor, and Stanley and even Nyiwe (who was a better player the second half of last year than what he has showed) will need at least productive defensive minutes, or I expect the game will get ugly.

Win and I'm thrilled, play well and there would remain a glimmer for the rest of the schedule.

Was St. John's "loaded for bear" after any of their recent losses during the losing streak? Not sure it works that way

You gotta love people's logic.... When the opposing team has a bad stretch of games and coming off a loss, they super motivated and going to beat us worse than if they won the previous game. But, when the Johnnies are in that situation, they just suck and the season is over. 😂 😂

St. John’s does not have the coach nor do they have anywhere near the talent level that UConn has. UConn is going to pound us on Sunday.

Thats very possible but I sure hope if they win or play a real close great game you come back on and say you were completely wrong and apologize to the team

If that's the case, then why wasting your time commenting and watching the game if you already know the results?

This logic makes no sense to me... That's like someone saying I'm going to buy a flight ticket and call my friends to talk about the trip even though I know the flight is going to get cancelled. Are you just bored? Weird.

I absolutely will if that were to happen . I hope I have to do that. I will do it gladly.

Making plays, I’m rooting for them to win but I have to be honest, I just don’t see it. I have lost all faith in CMA at this point. I hope the kids can overcome his horrible coaching. I hope I’m wrong and would love to be wrong especially since we’re playing UConn. I will be watching hoping that I’m wrong but I just don’t see us winning. I think we’ll lucky to keep this game respectable. As I said previously, I see this as an 80-65 UConn win. Again, I hope like hell that I am wrong.

I hope you are indeed rooting for them to win. I get that the probability of us winning in Harrford is low. But that doesn’t mean we don’t stop rooting for them. Unlike the poster who said he was hoping for Anderson to fail so that we could start looking for a new coach. That is NOT being a fan. Anyway, I know our women’s team took a thrashing from Pukon at home last night. I hope the men can exact some revenge.

it only works with really good teams with strong coaches who make sure their team bounces back after a loss.

I fear we are screwed for Sunday but hey at least most of the area will be focused on the Giants game that day anyway
So how did uconn manage to lose two in a row a week ago?
