Very cool and supportive parent

I think you find that behind every great kid is at least one and maybe two great parents.

It doesn't always work the other way. Some kids are just dumbasses at times despite having great parents.

By contrast, one current player empathetically told me when I mentioned Curbelo, "Well you know, he has no family in the NYC area and has basically been on his own."

Thankful for the great kids we have this year and the loving families that are raising them.

By all means, CRP was our Christmas gift come early this year.

Lou was quoted as saying if he knew he would live to 98 he would have taken better care of himself. (Actually that was Mickey Mantle when he was dying of liver cancer at age 63 after decades of abusing alcohol ☹️)
Apology for going off topic, but that quote was also attributed to jazz great Eubie Blake on his 96th birthday as well as to Mickey, and as well as to and a number of others.

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holidays. I've placed my last group of kids with this class for a bit and have decided to step away from the game for awhile. I wanted to thank you all for the kindness not only to me but each other. This is a great loyal fan base who rally around each other in time of personal need. Please stay kind to each other. Again thank you all for welcoming me, go REDSTORM and please stay healthy and safe. God bless
Keep posting here 79. You are one of the best!

Met Lavin at MSG during Big East Tourney a few years ago when he worked for Fox. Great guy really friendly, he took a photo with us!
I have no doubt anyone who meets Lavs in person comes away with that reaction. The guy can sell bubble gum to the lockjaw ward at Bellevue.

As to what happened during his tenure, being a long time poster I obviously read it all here. Was fine with him coming back but also put stock in the stuff posted along the lines of Logan and others.

I thought Ponds was a terrific offensive player, good on defense, certainly far from afraid of the moment. I thought he could have been in better shape but could have been wrong, that is mostly based on things I heard from people I respect but I don’t know if it was true.
My only knock on him is that I thought he tried to change his on court persona to become more of a pure point guard his senior year, I imagine looking toward the NBA. Not unusual at all for players to do that after getting feedback after their junior year.
But all in all a terrific college player, borderline AA, a little too small without world class quickness for the NBA though.
Totally agree. It would have been nice if he had continued to get stronger but maybe a better coach would have gotten him there. The final thing I will say is look how good he was as a Freshman. Not many players put up those numbers as Freshman.

Great post

With RJ back the rotations change and the bench deepens. Don’t think we’ll be seeing Brady tonight. UConn not a heavy zone team.
