Connecticut (MSG), Sun., Feb. 23, 12 Noon, FOX

We won at Uconn this month with like 200 fans present. If we are good team, we will draw like crazy and we won't have to worry about % of the seats are taken up by opposing fans. I want the Garden filled every game as my top priority. #2 is getting that 90%+ St. John's. #3 is all of our fans wearing red.

You don't play home games in the NCAA tournament. If we can't overcome a 1:4 opposing fan ratio at MSG, we have bigger issues.
They won at UConn with essentially none of our fans in attendance, which was another character builder.

And when did I even imply anything about being unable to overcome a 75-25 split at the Garden?

Yes, of course the main is a sellout, and I certainly understand the Garden will always have a certain amount of visiting fans. But my point was having 90 percent plus in red at the Garden is a great for optics. That is the goal.

I can't stand the trailer park crowd of UCONN fans; I am glad we smacked them down in their trailer park of an arena. They are as arrogant as they come. They are a tad worse than Villanova fans. But I think Syracuse fans beat them both. Each time I am at MSG without fail one of these groups of fans will yell an obnoxious inciting statement. I get supporting your team and all but don't yell inciting statements. I may have to put someone in a camel clutch on Sunday!!

Watching casual fans jump back on the bandwagon this season has been almost as much fun as watching RJ take over games.

I'm bringing my typical victim the long suffering Mrs. A to this game. But I also went to games with a guy that literally lives on Utopia parkway and had NEVER been to Alumni Hall; a 1982 St. Johns grad who had NEVER been to any game before; and a guy who watched Frank Alagia play point the last time he went to a game.

Do everyone a favor and administer "sleeper hold."

I agree 100% with your last paragraph.

I want to see us play every single conference game at the Garden and 4 or more non-conference games. I’m in the minority in that I’d love to play Syracuse there annually. If other fans want to buy tickets and support our athletic department, bring it on.

Bring on Syracuse, Michigan State, Duke, Kentucky, UConn for a third game….anyone who can get us over 19,000 fans.

& anyone who can get us on FOX/CBS/NBC.

On Dave's podcast our AD was urging fans who had to sell tickets to make sure they don't get in the hands of UConn fans. Can't say I disagree with him.
Memo to Ed. It is only going to get worse next year if he doesn't proceed cautiously with his seating restructuring.

Dislodge more loyal fans from their seats via point system for Johnny come lately fan$ (no pun intended) and you will see more and more visiting fans in lower level seats in the coming years.

Those same people who have abandoned this program for decades and now return because Pitino has the team winning will not (IMHO) be regular attendees to all games at Garden next year like the true diehards the school will displace and alienate. So what then, the new season ticketholders will easily and frequently put their tickets on StubHub and the majority of those tickets will go to the visiting schools' fan bases who are willing to pay the premium secondary market prices to see their schools' one game in NYC.

All for raising money for program (it is a necessity), but can't have it both ways Ed. Cant tell people to pay top dollars and then expect them to take lower resale prices by limiting their sales to just SJU fans, even if we all would like that.

As long as he is ready for next year. I think he is going to have a bigger role. For once our coach actually improves his players.

Unless he portals.
