Is this the argument you want to make?

Jenkins was not even 1st team all MAAC as a 4th year senior in an inferior league to the Ivy. Two of his teammates were 1st team (and he took more shots than both). Neither of them joined him here. So we got third best player from a MAAC team.
Iona won that league last year . Clayton jr eas All MAAC and League player of the year , I think .

Many leagues like to spread out All Star selections to as many teams as possible . Good will .

I’m doubtful that Dingle would have been MVP in the MAAC since Clayton jr is a better player , You can’t be serious to think otherwise .
So , it’s just stuff up on the Wall to say the Ivy is better than the MAAC . Much of it in your mind alone .
Pitino was on record in the pre season that Jenkins would have started on his teams at L’ville ! Dingle ? No such comment .

You have the right to your own opinions but not your own facts. The Ivy League has been an objectively better league than the MAAC for decades. That is true in every single ranking of conferences.

The MAAC is one of the weakest conferences in the country. The Ivy is typically just below the A-10 any given year.

But the Pitino Iona team would. have beaten any Ivy team last year . Handily

I think you answered your own question Gene. It’s not as easy as seeing it after the fact and just saying let’s fix it. Would trust the fact that RP is working on it and that everything he does intentionally is well thought out and given much deliberation. Even if the game plan doesnt work out.
My view on Pitino “fixing it”. I have to believe he and staff put together a team on the fly and I assume, in some, if not most, cases, sight unseen. I think he took a major and maybe unexpected hit when Clayton went to Florida. IMO, time would have been against him anyway, but that was compounded by the decision I believe he was handed, mainly to jettison the majority of the team.
Storr, for me, 100% completely in hindsight, was a player we would have been fortunate to keep, but I was not a fan and was not the least bit concerned when he left. But he has certainly proven he can score the ball inside an offense, which is exactly what this team lacks big time.
Pitino has tried things, starting Dunlap, starting Wilcher, benching players, different combos on the court and nothing has worked. Posters lament court time for players they feel are inferior but what players have gone out and really EARNED court time? Via effort, Ledlum, Eijofor, Dunlap IMO, but outside of Ledlum’s rebounding none of the three have produced anything resembling consistent results.
I certainly hope I am wrong and will gladly eat crow, but after the Xavier game, I feel pretty strongly this team has no run in them; they just don’t seem interested in doing what needs to be done to achieve that. Not sure why, but if ever a team should have been poised to come out fired up, Wednesday was it. Big win by playing suffocating D, a week off to reinforce that approach and yet, boom, back into the abyss.
As I said, I hope to heck I am proven wrong, and espken especially, my “doom and gloom” will not affect my rooting one bit. I will be howling and cursing at the TV as always.

Of course, as you know, now that we've reached the games that matter against tougher comp the cream has risen to the top and he's shooting 36% in conference games.

32% in games not played against Providence which looks like an outlier. If he was a SG we wouldn't even be discussing him as a "threat" from outside. He's good enough for the position he's playing, but mostly because there's an absence of what any reasonable critic would deem a legitimate outside threat on the entire team.

I think Jarvis did well for us in the beginning then at the end got extremly lazy recruiting wise and thought he was too good for that. But he will also be in attendance which is a classy move by the University and Jarvis himself. As far as game SJU should come out fighting and ticked off and Uconn coming off a high win. Should be a fun game to watch none the less.

I think Jarvis just stayed out of the way of the Riverside Church AAU team and once they were gone he was lost, especially on the offensive end.
