Soo Dingle? 😃

Disappointing obviously. He's part of the problem. Team overall is disappointing. My position is that Jenkins is not going to be the solution, even if he's not a significant part of the problem. The team is starting to resemble a more than marginally upgraded version of Mullin's first season of misfit toys and wasting Joel's last year.

My son lives right across the street from the Paramount (by Meehans) and on weekends can be found playing sax at many local clubs in and out of town including the Paramount. 😎👍
I think I saw your son....he works at Mission Taco across the street, right?😜

No doubt that to date, this team has disappointed overall. Whether it be players underachieving, a poor mix, coaches not getting the most out of players or erratic sub patterns, clearly we all expected better at this point in time. How do I know this? From all the pre season posts where many claimed a pre season 25 ranking was too low among other posts. But here’s the good news, the season is not over yet. Win against the most dislikeable team tomorrow and there’s a 180 degree turn in our outlook on the remainder of the season. Of course we said that before after the second Nova game but let’s give it a shot, clear our heads, have a good outlook and root like f in hell for a big win tomorrow.

What does that have to do with the level of competition they went up against? Iona had an A-10 caliber roster in one of the weakest conferences in basketball.

Princeton beat two top 25 teams to get to the Sweet 16 last year btw.
Apples and Oranges . Iona had to play UCONN in the opening round and gave them a game for the first half .
Actually gave the Huskies a better game than Gonzaga did .
But , Iona was from that bottom dwelling MAAC league .
Did you follow the Bottom dwelling St Peters Peacocks the year before who got to the elite 8 and beat Purdue , the number 1 seed ?
When has any Ivy Team gotten that far ? St Peters is a MAAC team too .

So , keep believing stats mean little beyond collecting data .

We’re in the tournament right now per pretty much all bracketologists, but we’re a “marginally upgraded version” of a team that went 1-17 in big East play?

Jeez, tough crowd

Hope we win tomorrow so the vibe on here can change a bit

Austour has good points a fair amount of times, but he missed the mark here. Mullin's first team was terrible, and no way this current group is a "marginally upgraded version" of that particular team.

Yes, a win tomorrow seems more so needed for the psyche of the board than the team.

Love him or hate him, Hurley is an A1 recruiter

This cross-eyed lunatic is not what is attracting top talent to Uconn. It is the same basketball aura that attracts that talent to Kansas, Kentucky, Duke and the other regular top 20 programs. They treat their recruits like NBA superstars and pay them very generously. They also have Final Four pedigree. Something St. John's has NOT sniffed in over three decades of mediocrity because of a 1950's approach to recruiting and fundraising for the program.
Yes, Hurley has coaching pedigree, but let's face it, he stepped in shit when Uconn gave him the job.
Pitino is fighting an uphill battle at St. John's because of it's image crisis and lack of big time NIL that should have been able to keep players like David Jones and AJ Storr.

Good talk.

I'm not basing it on results or potential but just that it's a bunch of parts thrown together haphazardly at the last minute that lacks the tools required to execute the coaches plan (CRP) or lack thereof (CCM).

According to the Athletic article, St John's under Pitino is now in the top tier of the Big East in terms of NIL. I am sure that if Pitino wanted to spend the $$$ on Storr he could have.

Austour went to the lane hard and airballed the finish.

Princeton also played Iona last year and lost by 6 on a neutral court. Hardly what I would consider beating a team handily.

I was just making a joke. Have not given up on Dingle and definitely not on the team. But Mullins FIRST year? 1-17 BE year? I know you said more than marginally upgraded but this team is 3 close BE games away from top 20 in the country and right now safely in the field. Maybe more like Champs junior year being wasted with no chemistry or ability to garner momentum.
