Connecticut (MSG), Sat., Feb. 3, 12 NOON, FOX

They don’t pass Dunlop the ball. It’s all eyes at the hoop once they start dribbling.

I can’t wait until next year for Dunlop. These guys are allergic to him.
That goes for all of our shooters. Taylor and Alleyne are the only ones that kick it to shooters. That’s winning basketball. The best shot is 3 off a pass from the inside.

Soriano had Dunlap in the corner 3 separate possessions.

Another frustrating one. Like in previous years we seem to still be a 25 minute team. Although UConn can make anyone look like that. We got a lot of breaks in the first half between Jenkins hot shooting and the foul disparity, but when we got in trouble we reverted to hero ball.

Couple questions to anyone who sat real close at the game… sorry if it’s been addressed.

1. Anyone know what happened between Newton and a fan?. I just saw him stop a couple of times bringing up the ball, looks like they were jawing.

2. Did RJ toss a UConn player? I remember him missing a bunny and then seeing someone fly out of bounce. Maybe it’s just my theory that he is Curbelo 2.0 and I’m gong giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I won't even say that we need to steal the Marquette game, I will say that we need at split @ Marq & PC, that would put us at 7-7 going into the last 6.

Finish 5-1 and that's 12 wins and we're in.
We’re going to get destroyed at Marquette. They figured out late that we can’t stop the pick and roll.

I made my first sports bet in over a decade today…small bet for UConn. I’ll be placing a massive bet for Marquette if the line is within 5. I suggest other bettors do the same. IMG_2382.jpeg

Interesting and concerning quotes there. Much different from his “we’re coming” statements as recently as last week.

Also, the “everybody leaves” part foreshadowing to 3 months from now?

Old school HCs like Izzo are getting burned out w transfer mania, NIL. Hopefully Rick does not suffer same malady one day. A very smart poster on here echoed same just moments ago.

Candor is fine, but I think he should bite his tongue a bit after post game losses, not sure all
some of this is motivating.

Agreed. I don’t see any value in his statements. I also didn’t think it was wise to pick a fight with Hurley prior to this game.

He was singing a very different tune last night. I agree if he could dial it back after losses it would be wise but I think he takes them so hard he can’t stop himself.

This is really scary. If the younger players don't stick around. It becomes start all over and at some point Pitino says why bother.

Also hard to claim poverty when ‘everybody leaves’ after you started the year driving everyone out.

The NCAA has always been a corrupt institution. Focus on coaching the team you do have and maybe trying to find a doctor who can figure out why RJ’s shin splits are only symptomatic when he is playing defense.

I haven’t seen anyone comment about why Wilcher didn’t play. Is his comment related? I really really hope not

Biggest disappointnent to me this year is NO ONE has stepped up and progressed to be a reliable contributor, other than Jenkins(warts and all) and Joel (warts and all).
I disagree that Joel has been a reliable contributor. Today was another example of his inability to compete against the top tier big men.

Sports betting is killing all sports.
I got no problem with people sports betting; but IMO it has been way too widely implemented in sports coverage. Every other commercial is some app tryna convince you to put your money into it

Sports betting on phones has just recently become so streamlined, so I feel like we’re a couple years out from statistics coming out about people who have ruined their life using these apps. I’ve already heard some horror stories.
