Connecticut (MSG), Sat., Feb. 25, 12 Noon, CBS

I think he stays if we win either of the next two games. If we win them both, he may get another extension!
If CMA wins the next two games St. John's still will not make the NCAA tournament. Heck, St. John's is a bubble team to make the NIT even if we beat Uconn. In fact, if we win every game going into the Big East tournament championship and lose, we still wouldn't be invited other than in a play-in game.
Like Mullin, who won 21 games in his final year, termination will be because we will not have any impact recruits to change the trajectory of the program into a Big East bottom dweller.
The contract extension, without a stellar recruiting class, ranks right up there in St. John's contract blunders. We are definitely not the Wharton School of Business when it comes to pissing away basketball money.

Scheme wise this is as good a matchup as we can get. UConn scheme on D is to play super tight on the perimeter to eliminate the 3 point shot which doesn’t matter to us as we can’t shoot. That leaves them prone to getting beat by drivers as well as fouling a ton, both of which we used to our advantage in the first meeting. Surprised Hurley didn’t change his strategy in that game, would assume he will for this one

We can beat them again. Uconn is big and deep but I don’t like their guard play. We can disrupt them. One of the reasons why I don’t see them making a deep run in tourney. They are missing that strong lead guard in my opinion.

They are also the only BE School that is tax payer funded . Calhoun was Perfect Coach for their Program . He was a great Coach , Recruiter and total P—-k . Once they left the BE they should not have been Re admitted .
People greatly underestimate how hard it is for a small private school to compete with a large state school. In football it's damn near impossible but in basketball it's very very difficult and getting worse.
