Connecticut (MSG), Sat., Feb. 25, 12 Noon, CBS

The outcome of this game is irrelevant. We still play Butler in play in game.
The way we lost is a typical Anderson coached effort.
Bad passes by Posh, under playing the 3 point shooters, driving when you should be looking for an open man, bad positioning on offense, and the cardinal sin of playing Posh, Curbelo and Wusu at the same time, etc., etc.
I disagree with anyone who says the game was not winnable because some bad calls, technicals and allowing too many 3 pointers was the real difference.
Of course our offense once again relied on ridiculous drives by our guards against a 7'2 shot blocker.
That was Anderson's job to emphasize such offensive moves were hurting the team.
On to the next loss.

Effort was there. We played a little short handed, especially with Joel in foul trouble. UConn just hit too many big shots and came up big defensively too many times. They may be peaking at a good time for tournmanent.

I liked how Clark Kellogg kept driving home the fundamental (coaching) mistakes we see every game: repeatedly saying there's no movement, too many isolation plays, step behind on defense. He was frustrated, and clearly stated a few different times during the second half that SJU roster has a lot of talent, but suffers from poor half court execution (aka street ball) and poor decision making. Amen Clark, amen.

Clark should do some better homework though and realize we're not a pressing team anymore. He made several comments hinting that the turnovers were hurting the defense set up. Not the case. Although, to me, this team should be pressing, it lets Posh, Curbelo and Jones do what they do best, and it's not like the half court D is working anyway.

It's because, I believe, it's the first time than he's called one of our games this year. He's now as baffled as we all are that any high D1 team(except maybe GT) can play so undisciplined.

This qualifies Clark Kellogg as a potential Coaching candidate . Obviously he sees things that CMA doesn’t fix . I think he was generous in saying this team has talent . A few , very few players do individually but , it doesn’t contribute to a positive team result .
