UConn currently down 42-0 to army at Halftime

I was at that game at Michie Stadium at West Point
Army is pretty good but UConn is downright pitiful
We left at halftime - wasn't worth sitting in the heat anymore

FWIW, The College of the Holy Cross beat Yale this weekend and is now 2-1 on the season.

______

Ra- Ra- Rah !!

Yale, as a member of  Ivy League gives no athletic scholarships while The College of Holy Cross, a member of the Patriot is able to give up to 60 full athletic scholarships for its FCS football team.

Yale, which did not play a single game last season,  is handcuffed in its admission of athletes by the Ivy Index which is supervised and enforced  by its League.  The admission of athletes at Holy Cross, a distinguished academic institution is restrained only by its own policy.

So yeah, Holy Cross did defeat Yale but a school with athletic scholarships should expect to defeat the school with no athletic scholarships, much like last week,  the established college (Holy Cross) should have been expected to defeat upstart Merrimack College which is merely transitioning to FCS and likely has not filled out its 60 scholarships.

Latest rumors from different sources:
Colorado State and Air Force are continuing to consider AAC invitations. Boise St. and S.D. State are not interested.
UAB will move to AAC
West Virginia may still have a shot at a coveted ACC bid.
Should that occur, Big 12 would replace Mountaineers with Memphis
Lastly, if the ACC takes WVU, that might free up ND to move to the Big East.
We shall see if any of this materializes.

Boise St. and San Diego St. are both holding out for bigger names than the AAC. Can't say I blame them.

Adding Notre Dame and giving DePaul the boot would be the ultimate power move for the BE. To add a program the caliber of Notre Dame and be able to keep the home and home schedule would be a win-win.

Also eliminating a program that brings nothing to the table other than the possibility of a NET 150+ loss to ruin a team's season would be nice too. They've been in the Big East since 2005 and finished above .500 in the conference once (back in 2006), and finished over .500 overall twice...

Why would ND leave the ACC let alone for the Big East?

Norte Dame is not rejoining the Big East.

ND football enjoys Bowl tie ins through the ACC.  If ND were to bolt the ACC (which is highly unlikely) it would be to another P4 conference that offered a sweeter deal that included Bowl tie ins.

The only other P4 conferences that could make a Bowl tie in deal to ND would be the PAC 12, SEC or Big 10.

Culturally ND does not fit in the SEC or PAC 12.

The Big 10 has had on and off discussions with ND for decades.  The Big 10 has steadfastly refused to consider any football/ basketball relationship with ND that is less than full membership with all media rights owned by the Big Ten Network.

The ACC on the other hand agreed to the current hybrid membership with ND retaining football independence and its NBC network media rights with scheduling agreement to play ACC schools in football.

it is likely that ND stays in the ACC.

You must be joking, what conference ever kicks a school out? Besides we owe them a debt of gratitude for keeping us out of the basement all those years. Someone has to finish last.

They literally bring nothing to the table but potential season altering bad losses. Plenty of the other BE program boards have suggested this as well.

Someone has to finish last. Do you see the SEC kicking out Vanderbilt? Besides there are other sports besides men's basketball. DePaul women's hoops always at or near the top.

Vanderbilt is one of the best academic institutions in the country. DePaul is not.

It’ll never happen but the BE would be way better off without them.

With regard to the status of the Mountain West conference, the word from the conference is that Colorado St. and Air Force have decided to remain in the MWC.  There is little doubt that Boise and S.D. State would bolt, if either Big 12 or Pac 12 offer an invitation.
These conference changes affect all sports, not just football, and if enough dominoes fall, Big East basketball may very well be impacted.

I have never been a Brian Kelly fan after he abandoned his players at Cincinnati days before Cincinnati’ was to meet UFlorida in the Sugar Bowl.

Cincy was ranked  #3 in the BCS Standings, he was hired by ND days before the Sugar Bowl  and he bolted his players before the game.

I never understood how a coach could abandon his team before their biggest game after his players had busted their @sses during the preseason and season.

The problem is the way things are set up in college football as opposed to college basketball. In CF recruiting signing period is mid December so as soon as regular season ends schools want a coach in place as soon as possible while the bowl games are at end of December into January. In CB season ends early March signing period not until mid April plus no bowl games to worry about.
