College Football Stuff

Then they all pretended their cars could not start because it required antifreeze.

He couldn't get a QB that worked, unfortunately because they had effective running backs and 2 exceptional receivers in Cam Coleman and Earl Singleton.
15-19 record in his two-plus seasons at Auburn, 6-16 in SEC & could not close out close games. Adios formula.

The carousel is wild and still more to come. But all make sense so far. But if Clemson clips Dabo that would be the dumbest move of all. He would be a coup for any open job.

Dabo and Shaka Smart, to their credit, have adopted the recruiting over transfer portal philosophy. Although I admire both coaches for doing so, unfortunately both Clemson and Marquette have not competed as successfully as the teams who use and rely on the transfer portal. Even though Marquette competes quite well during the regular Big East season, its Big East and National Championship records are just average to be kind.

Don’t look now but Uconn beat Duke to go to 7-3. They’ll be Bowling this year.

The same thing is happening to Dabo Swinney at Clemson. I think that by not adapting to the new "era" in both college basketball and football, their programs will be left behind.
Not sure about the correlation as neither of those programs seems to lose many players and a lot of the portal is to replace numbers you lose. Think biggest problem at Clemson is they haven’t had a good QB for quite a few years now. Bama football has stayed up there bringing in very few portal players and none that have been high profile. Over 90% still relying on HS recruits.

To your point about Clemson not having a good quarterback, don't you think that this may be because Clemson doesn't use the transfer portal?

Klubnick was more than solid last year...3600 yes, 36 TD & only 6 INT as a junior.

This year, not so good. Poor offensive line has put him under pressure a ton plus some injury.

They had 5* and overall number one ranked QB recruit DJ Uiagalelei for like 3 years and then Cade Klubnick (who as RedStormNC pointed out had a good season last year when Clemson actually was pretty good making the playoff) so maybe Dabo didn't see it as a need to spend big bucks.

S Carolina had it first and goal at end of half with about 20 seconds to go in half and all 3 TOs left. For some reason after completing a short pass they waited and only used one TO to kick a FG on second down. could have used the other TO and had 2 more attempts to score another TD. Up 30-3 at halftime.
