All kinds of rumors over at their fan boards saying the AD gave his buddy Willard a sweet heart deal. 3.2MM in buyout would be exactly that kind of deal. Especially since the rumor is that he is making between 850k and 1.1mm

Lump sum, or spread over time? Didn't think SH had that type of cash to throw around if they also have to get a presumably better coach.

@courtcred: The coaching carousel has begun...UIC, Citadel, Holy Cross, Liberty, Hawaii, Penn, Utah St, Utah Valley all undergoing coaching changes.

Utah St. is going to have a hell of a time trying to fill those shoes. Always shocked he didn't have multiple upsets in the tournament.

Stew Morrill was a monster coach...truly one of the greatest coaches of all-time. He came so close many times to pulling off huge upsets, but the talent gap was too much to overcome. The only one I can remember off hand was the 2001 victory over Ohio State in the first round. His teams were always well coached and well prepared in spite the fact that they were often comprised of several JUCOs and transfer.

It's a rough, recruiting scene in Chicago, and DePaul hasn't been good or consistent in years for those folks to send "their" kids to DePaul. They better hire someone who has panache.
