Geno is 70 doesn’t look like he’s retiring soon. You’d figure the next woman’s Coach would be less than half of that. That money would go to Danny.
I actually remember one of the advantages of coaching in the NBA it is strictly basketball and not some of the other things college coaches have to put up with. Those were some of the reasons, Pitino, Calapari, Stevens and Donovan jumped to the pros in the first place.Remember when coaching college kids was perceived to be much easier than coaching "NBA millionaires"? Not any more.
The idea of Danny having a mint julep discussing a loss with “Bubba Booster” would be fun. More likely he would toss it in the guy’s face.Kentucky donors have a lot of money, the state of Connecticut might have just a little more.
And there are still people arguing that UConn isn't a blue blood. Indiana fans should probably just be happy that once you are a blue blood you apparently can't have your membership revoked.More to my thinking. UConn's six National Championships since 1999 are the second-most ever for a program over a 25-year period. Only the UCLA dynasty of the 60's and 70's (10) have won more during such a period. UConn has won two less National Championships (6) since 1999 than Kentucky (8) has since winning their first one in 1948 and it is 6 -1 UConn since 1999.
Kentucky is the past; UConn is the present (and yes, that is hard to say).
Statue of Limitations has probably run out on UCLA as well. If not , it should have …And there are still people arguing that UConn isn't a blue blood. Indiana fans should probably just be happy that once you are a blue blood you apparently can't have your membership revoked.
They won a championship more recently though and that many total is harder to revoke.Statue of Limitations has probably run out on UCLA as well. If not , it should have …
yea as much his sideline behavior bothers me, he kinda won me over this March by stepping up and defending the Big East, while Val and co chickened out and released a stupid unsigned statementNever thought id say this but Hurley has actually grown on me. Sure he is a total maniac on the sidelines. But seems to have an intense passion for the game, appears to really enjoy working with the kids on his team, really supports the Big East, plus is a straight shooter and doesn't always give coach speak.
Jay Wright is done. He is never coaching again. Can Jay Wright be seduced into trading a micophone for a Kentucky front row seat??? Could he find stores in Lexington to supply his spiffy attire??
Hurley is arrogant and he gets away with too much. Did you see him push cam Spencer who had the ball telling him to move. The ref did and they lost possession BUT that should have warranted a technical. In the last regular season garden game with uconn he even pushed the ref. He is a loud mouth and the refs should start coming down on his antics instead of bowing to his screamsNever thought id say this but Hurley has actually grown on me. Kevin Ollie won in his first year with Calhoun's team...think Jarvis with Fran's team...And, like Jarvis, was punted within only a few years.I can’t recall , was Hurley the UCONN Coach before or after they were Re Admitted to the BE ?
I also recall that Kevin Ollie won the Championship after Calhoun retired.
Would Hurley have taken the job if they had stayed in the AAC ? Would they ever have the success there that they have in the BE?
He's a great communicator.
