Coaching Carousel

I like Carm. Local guy who had success with previous coaches roster. Been tending way down for 3 years. Siena should treat the job like it rightfully should be, highest ceiling in the MAAC. Love Trillys report of Gmac. Great relationship with the local City Rocks and a national name.

I am not saying John Calipari is in trouble but if I were Louisville or Michigan I wouldn't hesistate to place a call to John's agent and see if Cal would be interested in a change of scenery.

Sometimes things get stale after awhile. Again my guess is John Calipari is the coach at Kentucky next year.

Last week Trilly was saying how there was a nonzero chance Cal to Michigan could happen and that they at least had initial conversations. Apparently Michigan's issues around NIL and making sure all transfers get admitted remain unresolved so they are unlikely to reel in a massive name like that

I just realized the Oakland/UK game was in Pittsburgh. Cal's backyard (grew up in Moon, PA and former Assistant at Pitt).

That is some bitter irony...

Yeah it is weird because the football team is presumably hamstrung by the same NIL and academic issues yet they have thrived last 3 years...
Back in 2006 Cal almost left UK for NC St but he could not get assurances from them that they would relax their academic standards.

Suffice it to say if Cal leaves UK that would be a earthquake in college basketball. Both because of where Cal would potenially go and of course opening one of the best jobs in all of CBB.

If he's looking to coach this year, SMU would be quite the spot. He'll have all the money in the world.
