Coaching Carousel

Trilly says its done fwiw. Also heard that their NIL is in the 2-3 million range, which would literally be like a 10,000% increase for them. lol

Happy for DePaul. He's a floor raiser, should get them to not be a Q4 game next year, and maybe even a bubble team in 2-3 years.
He may not even be there that long. DePaul has a low ceiling, and (if offered) Holtmann may jump after modest gains.

Yeah but that is a risk I think at this point DePaul is not worried about taking.... LOL... Considering how bad the program has been for so long if you told them 4-5 years from now you will be back in the NCAAT and have a decent program but Holtmann maybe viewed by other higher programs as a potential candidate at that point I think DePaul fans will sign for that in an instant.

DePaul has only finished twice above 9th place since they joined the Big East in 2003. They would rightfully have been ecstatic with a Mike Anderson four year run, frankly.

You have a very weird dynamic in the BE among current coaches at DePaul, Butler and Xavier assuming Holtmann is hired by DePaul.

You have a coach at Xavier who use to coach at Xavier and was an assistant Coach at Xavier under the current Coach at Butler. You have the current coach at Butler who use to be at both Butler and Xavier and then went to Ohio St. You then will have the new coach at DePaul who use to coach at Butler and then replaced the former coach at Ohio St who is now back at Butler...

You follow all that....LOL

Six degrees of Big East separation.

DePaul with Ray Meyer and Son didn’t pretty well for themselves. I think they had a number 1 or 2 nba draft pick.

Also signed Strickland from the Bronx who would have been great at St John’s. Second biggest market next to us.

Let’s hope they succeed and the Vincentians are 1 and 2 going forward. Not likely but hopefully

I am not as bullish on how good DePaul can be as you guys.

While getting the right coach can change everything, including keeping talented kids home, rebuilding DePaul is an even harder job than SJU. Not to mention Chicago high school basketball “politics” are worse than NYC.

But I hope they do well. It is good for the conference.
