Just boarded my flight home. Flight is filled with GREAT SJU students who rooted like hell. Proud to be associated with them via SJU.

Are we supposed to be tilt proof when a nobody like danfog maligns a kid who has already overcome more than he ever will in a lifetime.

I'll just smile and imagine clark with a one punch knockout of this windbag but mire likely is he would laugh and walk away, classy young man he is.
. I think you can critique the performance without demeaning the player or Violinist in the Orchestra . We should soon welcome Marvin Clark as a Alumnus of St John’s University . He is the Student Athlete we can all be proud of on any of our teams .Today , I would say both. Clark and Heron are 2 of the most disappointed people on Campus or in the St John’s community ., They know they did not play up to their usual standards and the Game’s results were affected by their play . It must have been a nightmare , neither player could believe it was happening to them . I hope Mustapha considers returning next year . He could put up significant numbers and be the Team’s high scorer . He is a gifted BB Player that had a poor night . Is he ready for the next level ? It’s up to him , of course but, I think he could benefit with 1 more year . He came here knowing he might sit as a Transfer this year so, maybe playing 1 more year as a full time player , to improve his game might be a consideration . Hope he does . All of us St John’s fans and Alums should wish both , Marvin and Mustapha the best going forward . No matter the direction they take . Thanks guys !

Marvin,
Thanks for putting in the time it takes to play big time college basket ball, being a leader and playing out of position . Be proud of who you are and how you've succeeded.

Yes but that does not win games
I'll put it to you this way. If I had a kid would I want him to be like Marvin Clark ? Answer is YES I'd be proud of that and I'd be proud to have Marvin on my team anytime and if I lose I'd never blame him. You win as a team you lose as a team
Exactly!! I don't understand how some of the losers on this board can trash these kids. They are not getting paid to play these games!! If a kid represents the school well and gives it their all, how can you be upset at them? Marvin Clark never once dogged it. I wish every kid we bring in had the heart that Marvin Clark does.

If you want to take your frustrations out on anyone let it be the coaches or administration who are paid to make these decisions.

Not allowed to do that either. ;) (agree kids are off limits for criticism beyond talk of team overall).
i am proud of Marvin Clark and thankful that he chose to attend St. John’s University.
Agree wholeheartedly, and he will now have a degree, which in the long run will put him ahead of 99.9% of the players who leave school early.

He was our first true commit and came with Justin both good kids coming off an 8 win season and gave there all, oh yeah was part of a 21 win team that got us to NCAA tournament and he graduated! ENOUGH SAID!

Nice kid. I wish him well. But he really stunk these last two games, which happened to be the biggest of his career. Probably will miss him next year when our lineup is comprised of LJ, Trimble and 3 crappy transfers though.

I agree. I think Clark was a nice piece for most of his time with us but he turned into Houdini and disappeared for the better part of the last 6 games. Very strange, much like the rest of the team. They really faded out for some reason. I think Clark guarding bigs for most of the season caught up and he was just spent. End of the day glad he was part of SJ.

Good thing he didn't have a manual labor job than or else he really would have gotten tired.

Just going through the motions, no biggie.

Guys, unfortunately he ran into a slump at the end of his career. He continued to try hard and always showed up at post-game press conferences, he just played poorly the last 5 or 6 games. It happens. Let's move on and thank him for his positive contributions to the program. An all around first-class young man who should feel proud of his time here.

I'm in a miserable mood still, so I'm gonna take a break from this site.

Be back after the tournament. Hopefully to good news that there's a major shakeup in the coaching staff.

Peace.

He did a great job for us. He battled all the time against bigger guys. Never gave up. I believe he may have been hurt down the stretch. I wish him the best of luck!

Love this and why players wearing our uniform and representing our school deserve praise, not criticism. I need to do better myself about that at times

is. Without question he has impacted this program immensely. Last night, Marv played his last game in a St John’s uniform. Today, he was right there with the managers helping unload bags from the plane. Absolute class!

Clark is the kind of guy that JSJ will be posting about in a few years as a notable great alum. I wish him all the best.
