Too bad Obekpa left UNLV
They could have nicknamed the team Johnnies West
UNLV could be a good place for Jones to end up
They are several players shy of a full roster right now
Opportunity for lots of playing time

Would be a great choice for CJ as he would get a ton of pt which is the most important factor if he wants to play for $$$ in the future. He showed great improvement last season and was a good representative of the school. He graduated in 4 years and never complained when he clearly had the right to.
Best of luck to you CJ.

Actually, Jones would be taking the last available scholarship. Menzies has done a good job filling the roster with frosh, jucos and fifth-year seniors. He brought in ten new players. Jones should be able to get decent minutes off the bench. I thought the West Coast Conference would have been a better choice for him.

He committed to UNLV today. Good luck to him.

Not sure that was the best choice for him, but I also don't know what his options were. I appreciate Christian Jones for representing us well. There was never a problem, he was seemingly dedicated, and he was demonstrating improvement.

Good Luck, Mr. Jones.

I'd have preferred a lower level of DI for him, but I wish him all the luck in the world.

If he wants to play at the next level - nba, euro, China whatever, he can position himself by proving he can play against better quality opponents. UNLV gets him that over a lower level d1. Kudos to him for having confidence in himself.

Solid Citizen at St. John's. Hope trouble doesn't find him in Las Vegas.

Great kid who stuck with us through thick and thin. Was hoping he'd be on this year's roster. Wish him nothing but the best.

Maybe Jones wanted to leave, but if they had a choice between him and Amar, they chose poorly.

Christian or Amar wont have any impact on the program going forward.

We could have used some more muscle. He would be gone after this year regardless and a scholi available for 18. He played great his last game. I would have liked us to keep Jones. Even if he helped this years team. Indirectly the product on the floor this year will affect the future.. The better the product, the better SJU will look to future recruits.

Unlike most of you guys who watched that entire great game he put together at the very end of the season, I was out and came home late just in time to see Christian revert to the old Christian Jones on 2 key possessions in crunch time where games are won and lost. It was as if the coach turned back into the pumpkin just in time to hand the game away. Really nice kid who never caused a peep of problems while here and wish him the best, but he's not an important piece of any winning program IMO.

I'm not losing sleep over his departure . He may have been able to provide some productive minutes off the bench w no investment on SJUs part. W our luck he will probably have a monster year at UNLV :)

One thing for certain, had Mullin and staff thought he would be of value this season, he'd still be here. I believe they told Amar and Christian they'd be better off elsewhere if they wanted significant playing time.
