Better hope its during a contact period ;)

just got out of rumble. Co didn't play much and when he played he did very little. I don't think he had a single block. He diverted a few shots. Didn't look like a good rebounder to me. Poor hands and bad finisher around the rim. He looked very tired. Not very active and had his hands on his hips a lot. Hopefully that accounted for his off game but don't leave impressed.

Was the game a blowout?

I attended that game as well today. I can absolutely understand that if this was your first time watching Obekpa play you would certainly come away unimpressed.

In Chris' defense in the lack-of-blocks aspect, the team he played was a very good three point shooting team and took a lot of threes. Even their bigs shot the ball from the perimeter which moved Chris away from the basket and limited his ability to block shots. He did alter a number of them though and his presence was noticeable when he was in the lane and getting ready to come over to help. The ball handler would often toss up a floater or pull up.

Offensively it was pretty much the usual. Had 8 points, trouble really finding a rhythm for himself or making any sort of moves. He did make a few nice passes out of the high post with his back to the basket to find a shooter on the perimeter but overall just had a hard time getting anything going offensively.

Sounds like the 2nd time I saw him at CYP. Team just jacked threes all day to stay away from him.

I don't think thats really why this team shot threes for the most part, though. They shot threes because thats what they're good at and normally do. They had a number of good shooters out there.

So we play him against poorer 3-point shooting teams and let Sanchez take more minutes against better ones. Problem solved.

A team playing to its strengths?
What is this world coming too

I deleted a bunch of posts this morning from this thread. I tried to restore the ones that actually had to do with basketball but for some reason its not allowing me too. Sorry but this affected gman, allnet, and Theo I think who actually were posting about hoops. I will try again later, hoping its a glitch.

KEEP IT TO BASKETBALL for the 88th time.

I assume even if CO comes, next year, Sanchez will get more minutes because he's the more mature and experienced player.

Obekpa is like a girl...just can't make up his mind. I don't understand what's so hard.

He's not committing until he has assurances he can get his Jersey in a medium.

JUST KIDDING !!!!  :)

IMO Sanchez will definitely get more minutes as CO develops this coming season. Sanchez is probably a little taller, much more athletic, has two years of college experience, and has better hands, vision and passing at this time. He also has two years of playing in a zone defense in college and is a better rebounder.

The good news for CO is that there will always be minutes up front no matter who starts or plays the most. Both of those kids were made to play in Dunlap's zone, CO just has a long way to go on the other end to become a complete player.

A few of the board insiders have written that others may be trying to make up his mind for him.
