There is a poster on Bearcat news.com (that is probably where UC Bearcats is getting his info) who mentioned Telep stating an issue with grades. I'm not sure whether Telep actually stated (a tweet that I've yet to see) anything about schools have yet to see Obekpa's transcripts or it was the poster who stated it.

But he said he read it off of Telep's Twitter page.
I am not saying he is right or wrong. But I don't see the tweet. Produce the tweet.
I don't have a problem with posters from other schools posting here. None, zero.
But don't tell me you "heard it" and then said you "read it" and then cannot produce the tweet.

The poster who originally made the post, in reference to Telep's statement, never produced the tweet. But, I have a hunch UC Bearcats picked up this info from that same poster on Bearcat news, and not from a tweet he actually read.
Is that where you're getting the info, UC?

A UC fan tweeted to Telep if Obekpa had academic problems, and he replied that he does and that no school has seen the transcripts. I will try to find that tweet, but it was a reply.
I looked back on telep's twitter. A Cincy fan on May 18th asked Telep if Obekpa had any academic concerns? Telep just answered "yes". Nothing about transcripts. As far as academic concerns go, I think we'll just have to wait and see. It hasn't stopped Lavin nor Cronin from pursuing so I'm guessing not insurmountable. Time will tell.
This sounds similiar to what the poster on Bearcat news stated. Have you actually seen it or just regurgitating what you read on Bearcat news? Just curious. Maybe, the tweet exists, and Telep's reply only showed up on the tweeter's page with the question, but I have yet to see any verification.

For crying out loud that was 3 weeks ago. I am not saying it is true or not but to come on here and act like Telep just said it as an explanation for why he hasn't chosen gives a false impression.
My point is on May 18th everybody agreed that he was a Cincy lean. Now he apparently is a SJU lean. Back in mid-May Cincy fans might have been wondering what the hold up was and academics becomes a easy explanation. The point is perhaps, just perhaps, the reason why he did not choose Cincy at that point and has such turned towards SJU is that he was rethinking his possible commitment at that point because of certain things and is now changing his mind.

We have short memories... the re-recruitment of Pelle last fall was pretty bizarre. He's going to prep school in PA, he'll be elidgible in December, then he's back in California for a long weekend, then he won't be eldgible in December but he's still a Johnnie... wait now he's commiting to SDSU, now he's visiting Iowa State..
That was frustrating as all hell, especially considering we were playing games at the time without a real Center.

Asst coaching jobs are fair game (since there's only 3/team so they're less likely to waste them). Other positions are limited, i.e. Mo as DOBO, and include anything else from strength and conditioning to video coordinator to team secretary. Those come with two year bans on kids those folks might have coached at any level.
