Chris Obekpa

I think he will end up at Providence when its all said and done. Really impressive what Cooley is doing with them so far. BTW rumor has it that a major recruit is going to commit to PC very soon. Hopefully its Obekpa and not Jakarr

I don't know, at this point, I think Obekpa would be the better get for us, Jakarr has shown that he does not care about loyalty, and we need bigs, Obekpa fits that role better than Jakarr.

I respect your opinion but I have to disagree. IMO Jakarr is hands down a better player then Obekpa.

Not arguing that Jakarr is the better overall player. I just think there comes a point that you gotta fill position needs over talent. We are set at SF assuming Amir is as dedicated to SJU as he claims. We have Dom, Harkless, and Amir at the 3. We need guys who can play the 4-5.

If we can get Pelle to stay I think we would be fine with Pelle, GG and Gathers not to mention Jakarr is 6'8 and is capable of playing the 4 and even some 5.

Does anyone feel Lav is losing his MoJo

Absolutely. We should get rid of the bum.

Absolutely not. He recruited the #3 class in the nation last year and, unfortunately for us, there have been some bumps in the road for 3 of the players. We all hope they are still committed to attending St. John's, but if not, that's there personal choice. As for this year, Lavin went hard after 2 prospects: Kyle Anderson and Ricardo Gathers. He landed Gathers, who is apparently an absolute beast. And Anderson chose to go to UCLA, which is an absolute dream school for a ton of prospects. Now, he'll have to re-focus and land some quality prospects to go with last year's class. Let's see how everything unfolds, but my guess is he'll bring in some strong talent.

Simple reply absolutely not.

Upon further analysis and after seeing that Lavin has gotten a commitment from a top 30 power forward, the position we arguably needed most help at going forward and from a borderline top 100 sg, and only had 3 ships to give this season two weeks ago the real question should be does anyone feel usguard is loosing it ?

Now back to Christopher Obekpa please.

We'll have a tough time beating out UCONN, especially with their past history with big men.

Except we need him alot more than Uconn does plus we have more PT available. Let's hope it helps as we now have a number of schollies to give and we need bigs.

That depends on the the NBA's new CBA. Unless they put a 2 year requirement on college players, after this season, UCONN could lose Andre Drummond and Alex Oriakhi to the NBA. Oriakhi is expected to shift over to his more natural PF spot along side Drummond at the 5 spot. This is all a big "if".
