Chasing Nova

We are obviously fighting Nova when it comes to being on the bubble, so ill say right now turn on your tvs and watch ESPNU, Nova is knotted with Seton Hall at the half. This would be a bad loss for Nova and could help us definitely. Go SHU!

Lunardi said that even if Nova loses he will still include them in his bracket because of their quality wins which I found interesting.

Yea maybe but you when you look at their schedule if they dont win this game that marquette win might be the last for them all season. They have to play at Pitt, and at home against GTOWN.

Which by the way, if they did drop these last 3, and their first game in BET tournament, that leaves them at a mediocre 18-14 on the season. Even with those good wins, losing to Providence twice, Seton Hall, and Columbia, could counter. 17 minutes left, Seton Hall leads by 2

I think we need to win the BET to get in, so I really don't think we are technically chasing anyone anymore.

Honestly, I don't think we're chasing anyone now other than ourselves. If there was anyone we were battling it out with then I'd say it's Cincy. I think the Big East will take between 7-8 teams to the 'dance.' If it's an 8th team, then it's probably gonna come down to the Johnnies and Cincy.

If we somehow win out, then we're in at 11-7 (regardless, what 'Nova or Cincy does).

Yeah absolutely, they would have a tough time getting in with those credentials, especially with the Syracuse win diminishing each day,

Syracuse is still a top 15 team, so that is remains a solid win. I doubt Syracuse falls below 20 before the start of the NCAA Tournament.

But it's not the top 5 win that it appeared to be when they got it.

Maybe, not. But the win is still a solid win, nonetheless. The committee will view it, as such.

'Cuse is ranked #12 at the moment. Like I said, I doubt they drop below 20 before the start of the NCAA Tournament.

Yea but what I am saying is if Nova drops this, they have a chance of falling apart because I dont see anyone beating GTOWN, and they have to play at Pitt. S they could drop below us and Cincy. That would makeit even easier fornus to get in.

There isn't any limit on how many teams from a conference that can go to the 'dance.' What we need to be worried about is us.... First and foremost. Then, we need to worry about some of the mid-majors who have won their regular season conference, but end up losing in the conference tournament, and a team stealing a bid. Heck! That can even happen in the bigger conferences. A team could be on the fence, and make a run in their conference tournament (or, worse by winning it) to steal a bid.

Like I said, if we win out then we're in.... Regardless, what 'Nova or Cincy does. If 'Nova loses today, then it could help us. I also wouldn't put it past 'Nova to beat G'town with the way the Wildcats have been playing at home.

Possibly, but when the brackets come out I am considering picking GTOWN to win it all, so I am high on them right now. But for those not watching game, under 13 to go, game still tied.

I think we need to win the BET to get in, so I really don't think we are technically chasing anyone anymore.
I'm not following all the bubble scenarios right now but I'd think that if we won 2 of the next 3 and won 2 in the BET that we'd be on solid ground maybe.

I think we just need 20 wins

That is my thinking, as well, maher. If we go 10-8, and win two games in the Big East Tournament, then I think we're 'dancing.' That would mean we've knocked off, at least, two ranked teams. 11-7 certainly gets us in, IMO.

Funny, they just showed a graphic of teams Lunardi has in from the Big East, including their seed. He still has Cincy as a 9 seed.

I hope you guys are right, but I think 20 wins only gets us a live look-in at sad faces on the selection show. We have some ugly losses, and no wins that would really grab the committee's attention.
