That and Marquette board saying he did not like the new conference and the TV deal. Not sure what to believe. There are better jobs out there than Va Tech, one of the worst basketball schools in the ACC.

I should clarify that the source of the news that Buzz did not like the new BE and the FS1 TV contract, was, ta da, ESPN. Just ESPN continuing to hate on the BE. So I take that now with a grain of salt.
 
Va Tech is horrible. Wow I'm pretty shocked he would go there. I could see Howland going to Marquette
 
ive been to Blacksburg twice - it is the worst place in America.
they have a lot of money and big time facilities but it is the asshole of the earth.

I can understand wanting to move on but v tech just feels like a bad choice. He could have landed a bigger role if he waited.
 
Would think he would go after the BC job instead if he wanted to bolt to the ACC.

BC is a bad situation with maybe the worst administration to work for and an an almost non existent fan base under the age of 50. If he was having issues with MQ admin why move to BC?
 
March Madness has taken hold: Buzz leaving Marquette, Calhoun wanting the BC job, Duke going down today to a #14 seed, and worst of all, the Jets sign Mike Vick. :eek:hmy:
 
This is not the old Big East. ACC is the more prestigious conference now, like it or not. Marquette I believe pays well, but Va. Tech offered more I guess. It will be tough though.

Va. Tech is definitely a better job than BC.

Don't disagree that Va Tech must have offered him a ton of money. But I think those two schools (Va Tech and BC), plus Clemson, are the bottom feeders in the ACC.
