Goddamn Luis looks good. He had some REALLY poor shot choices, but his ceiling is absolutely nuts. We need him to create for others.

Did he have a growth spurt? He looks way bigger than he did at UMass.
I think he’s 6’8”+ it seems. He’s also a lot more explosive than I have seen. I think once he’s less excited to be back and push the pace he will share it. Pitino said he’s the only other player besides Daniss that does so, but he was definitely trying to make it happen today. I’m ok with it as we crushed and it’s really his first big minutes game.

I think Paultz hit the nail on the head. Dingle has been an “enigma”.

He might be the key to the whole season. Kid was the 2nd leading scorer in ALL of College Basketball. Sure the speed of the game is much different the higher the level. BUT, right now I just don’t see him playing with a scorers mentality. We can’t let him get “lost”. Need to turn him around pronto. I know he’s a really smart, intelligent kid. We need to get him going. I don’t think we’ve seen his best yet.

I’d like to see us play Dayton again too! Whatever, water under the bridge. Games were learning experiences and it appears we are growing which is all that matters
Just to be clear, we are now 10-4 with extremely narrow losses vs UConn,
Dayton as well as BC having lost to all three by a total of 17 points combined.

We are having our growing pains with an entirely new roster but thus far nothing to be ashamed of on our resume and we must keep up wins like this today.

My takeaways

-Luis stepped up when most needed. We’re up 6. They get an open 3 AND an easy put back and miss both and Luis with the spin and bucket and then draws the foul next play. That was what put us over the top.

-Thank god this game is over and some of y’all can stop gushing over Alexander. I appreciate what he did here but this game summed up his career with us perfectly. Started off great and went off the rails. No one has said it yet, but he doesn’t play well pissed. He gets too amped up, it hurts him.

-The Brady Dunlop game? Shot and release are both beautiful. Someone said it, but even when we can’t get him a shot, he opens the floor up. And, despite his skinny stature, he played effective defense and grabbed a few boards. Great friggin game.

-Senior leadership. My boy Alleyne with the big 2nd half minutes and, yes, he shoots a little too much, but Jenkins played good for the most part. Ledlum played good too after scaring me in the first 2 minutes.

-Negatives. Dingle, ok, he hit 3 free throws in a row, which was big at the time, but what the hell? C’mon man, still most of the season left, get your head in the game. Taylor, what’s up with that? Hopefully it’s nothing.

This team made some great adjustments in this game and played great in the 2nd half. Both usually a sign of good coaching. Been a while right?

He has seven assists tonight. Everyone else only had 1 or 0 — and that’s a game where we had six double digit scorers!!!

Jenkins drives me nuts but he’s very clearly our best option with the ball in his hands and getting the offense going.
Agreed. But he really seems tone be improving Playing a lot smarter

Well said. Agree about Posh. Started solid but let his frustration get to him then disappeared. Didn’t miss him as much as I thought except for nostalgia, and Jenkins smoked him as well.

In this game the zone actually hurt us giving carrot top and others wide open threes. We opened it up when we went man to man and put pressure on Posh and others. In that respect the D certainly has improved. Nice job team.
