Bucknell game

FGs : 87-167 .521
3 PT: 24-53 .453
FT: 32-40 .800

Those are Bucknell's stats. If we allow them those numbers, we lose.

Bucknell's stats are impressive for the early going. We should learn more about our defense, rebounding and overall game plan and strategy from this game..
While the Bisons are from a smaller conference, they have established a quality program over the last 4-5 years.
Good long range shooting teams give us trouble but, we should be able to absorb the 3's and still win by controlling the inside game.

Yes, if we allow them those numbers we'll have given up 230 points, which will make it tough to win.

@SJUCoachLavin: We’re emphasizing with our players that Bucknell is a Sweet 16 level team that we’re facing. #SJUBB

@SJUCoachLavin: Biggest game of the year for us because it is our next game and it’s a team that will likely end being a Sweet 16-caliber team. #SJUBB

What's he gonna tweet when we face Univ. of San Francisco?

He needs to ban himself from twitter for the season.

The 3 pt nemesis has been identified.

"Cameron Ayers has stepped into the role of being "they guy" this season... After struggling against Stanford shooting 5-16 from the field and 1-8 from 3PT, Ayers has found his stroke combining to go 9-10 from 3PT in wins against Penn State and St. Francis (PA)."

Please - a hand in his face. Do not fall for the pump-fake, the step back, the pull-up...

It's like he's trying to get people to purchase tickets by over hyping the opponent. I'm not denying that this is going to be a tough game but Bucknell is not a sweet sixteen team.

Trying to hype the opponent or trying to give himself an out just in case we lose?

No reason they couldn't be.

Tell me a coach that doesn't speak highly of its opponents. What is he supposed to say they stink? I think Lavin is a great communicator and that is positive for the program. For some of you to be so relentlessly critical of everything he does this early in the season is really tedious and painful to read. Cheer up for god sakes, we have the best team we have had in years.

What do want coach to tell the team, these guys stink so we dont have to worry about them? I think some people here look way too hard to find things to criticize him for

Lou Holtz would build up Holy Cross football team, and make them sound like a national power. I can also remember Joe Gibbs talking up each foe, as if that team was the best team in the NFL, week in and week out.

It's coach speak, and all of it shouldn't necessarily be taken literally.

This is a very rough game for us at home. Bucknell certainly a tourney-caliber team. Worst thing for us would be for the team to take them lightly. In addition, it's a draw for the fans out there to buy tickets, when people know that Bucknell is a real opponent. Nothing wrong with Lavin hyping Bucknell. They deserve the pub. They are dangerous.

A little of both but I am sure Jim B and Syracuse underestimated St.Francis tonight. Kudos to coach Braicca and SF.
