He also doesnt understand what being open is. He releases every shot as quick as he can. The majority of these shots he is wide open and he needs to take him time and bury it.

Its like hes always concerned his shot is going to get blocked something and just releases waaaaay too quickly.
It’s funny too because he has never had a three point shot blocked as far as I recall.

Maybe because he is half way thru his sophomore year and has NOT distinguished himself as a shooter. Yet. Will he? Most college players have acclimated themselves by now, some by middle of their first year. It takes kids different times to acclimate, I know, but I think he might be better served as a defense and rebound guy, at his height. Shoot a little but not be committed to the 3, and maybe drive a little.
He had a few great games last year.

It is a very hard role to fill. I had that role in HS. Miss first 2 shots and get taken out.

Three things though:
One he has been given a much longer leash then most in that role. Larry Wright for instance shot 43% from three as a Frosh on the worst shooting team ever and still Norm never played him. He won a game with a 3 against ND and played like 5 mins the next game.

Two, he should be commended for holding himself accountable and seems like real good kid.

Three however is, why is he in that role? Don’t think suited for it and I feel it is a detriment to both him and the team. He does some things well, stop hanging out out on perimeter looking to shoot threes. I think he would be more serviceable by doing the small things he does do well and not have the pressure of being counted on to do something that he is not proficient at.
You had that role here too 😉, you just didn’t get enough of an opportunity to do so IMHO.

I know everyone is high on Glover’s potential and athletic ability. I also understand why, based on that potential, why some feel he will overtake Brady’s in terms of minutes.

What I’ve seen so far from Glover is yes, he has potential but he also doesn’t know what a good shot is yet (after all he is a freshman). He has taken some very quick, some as soon as he touches the ball.

In what I agree has been limited action, he is 4 for 18 (and 3 of 8 occurred in one game) from three and 6 for 23 (4 of 10 in the same game he went from 3-8 from three) overall. My take, especially early on, he was pressing. My other take, if RJ Luis took some of the shots that Glover has taken, we would have 20 pages of how selfish he is and he needs to be on the bench.

Just saying, even if he goes 5-5 tonight, let’s pump the brakes a little.

some guys on their roster from close by- wouldnt be surprised they have decent crowd support...

i think this one will be a bit closer than people think

He won't overtake Brady in minutes. Not this year at least. Rick is still Rick. He doesn't play freshmen that much, usually. He also is very up front about who he likes. He is a Brady guy, it is obvious in the way he talks about him. He praised Brady after the Harvard game, then started him in the KState game. I doubt he is going anywhere, he will be a part of the core of 7 guys who get major minutes this year (maybe 8 guys if Prey ascends) Everyone else will fill in for small spurts as needed. Larry will have to make his peace with this ;)

As for Glover, I understand what you are saying regarding his shot choices and percentage, however I kind of enjoy that about him. When he gets in, he is trying to seize the moment and prove himself. I think I would rather that than having a freshman who is timid. Jaiden has a ways to go, but when he gets out on the floor, he has that chip on his shoulder. Though it may not happen for him this year, I like that he has the temperament of a kid who thinks he belongs to be solidified in the rotation and is out to show that. A lot of his shots so far this year have been open shots. Teams don't respect him yet and don't mind sagging off. He doesn't hesitate to try and make them pay and I like that. (I get your point re-Luis, but I think the expectations are different for Luis because we know what he can be when everything is clicking. Whereas Glover we are in that phase where we are trying to feel out what we have with him)

While I want Jaiden to be a part of the rotation (the more quick guards you have the better), I understand he is pretty raw at this point in his development. I expect his PT to mirror Sim's last year. The bulk of Sim's freshman year he was seeing 5-7 mins a game, with a few outliers here and there. If glover's role ends up being more than that I will be pleasantly surprised.

I agree with you in that he won't overtake Brady for minutes this year if you mean 2024. If Brady does not improve his shooting and Glover does then I expect them to swap in the rotation in February. Now if Brady gets going then Glover will have to wait a bit. I think RP talks Brady up to give him confidence. I would love to see them both get good run and hit their shots because the minutes will be there if they are both hitting 3s at a good clip. Let's hope that is the scenario. I do think that Brady has another 30 days to turn it around or Glover takes his minutes.
