Branch

So if it's a pulled groin what's the expected recovery time?

Hip flexor recovery time?

Based on personal experience, if he really puled his groin, he may not be back this year.

I don't even know what a hip flexor is.

Damn. Not good

A minor hip flexor strain can take 1 to 3 weeks for recovery time. If it is more serious you are looking at 4 to 8 weeks
Hopefully it is minor and he can be ready for the NCAA. We probably lose him for the BET

Panther2 had stated in another thread that Jamal 'a brother posted last night that Jamal was walking and feeling much better. Hopefully MRI is just precautionary.

team without Branch will be very thin. Hes a legit ballhandler who drives to the basket and opens up shots fo us. Low turnovers and lots of nice minutes off the bench. We need him to win big games. Get well JB!

Any muscular injury causing a level discomfort that was obviously significant, is going to take a minimum of two weeks. I agree, we have to put him on the shelf and hope he is ready for the NCAA tourney.

@fightthapowa: Good News from the Doc after going to get MRI for JB @jamal_branch

He was then asked if he was gonna be good for Marquette, and this was his response:

@fightthapowa: @yelbeeez Don't want to enclose that information, but no long term injury. Will be healthy Tourney time!

Not quite sure who this is, but it's good news!

fingers crossed. Ideally we could rest him for marquette and still win that game

That's good and hopefully BET. Even though I think we're in we still need another win to be safely in the tournament. Will be hard to win another game without him if Harrison is hurting.

Pretty sure that's Jamal's brother. Great news if true

It does happen to be JB's brother. Here's a few more tweets yesterday from him:

@fightthapowa: It's a groin

@fightthapowa: Brother's Keeper!

In typical Jamal fashion he was real smooth yesterday. Those nifty lefty layups were all timely and sweet. Hope he's back for BE tourney next week

I hope Jamal is OK. That would be a terrible way to go out, at least his career would end with an assist and one of his top 5 overall performances as a Johnny. I still think he got a raw deal here and should have had a longer leash the last few years but he's been a steady contributor and we may not win yesterday without him.
Jamal choose to come here, and I got the feeling the whole board was pulling for him. I think he was hurt by the time off. He's tops now on switches and the rest of what it takes to guard on the perimeter. When he had the open shot he hesitated, and he wasn't getting to the rim or the foul line. He seemed to lack the aggression either guard spot takes. I don't get the losing the whole year thing. When guys sit from Nov. through March, don't they get the whole year back. If he stayed at A&M the entire year, and then sat a year here, wouldn't he have 3 more coming? Anyway, I hope he heals up and has a great finish.

So some of our posters who are not really doctors, but play one on redmen.com were at it again. Amazing how many experts were able to gather information from their couch and make a diagnosis.

I was awaiting for the date of Branch's amputation.

Still have no idea how severe the injury is. We rarely hear anything from the school.

Zach B said he heard that it's not as serious as some think. Honestly, I love Jamal, but over the years I've noticed his tolerance for pain is generally low. I'm not dissing him or anything I'm just stating what I have noticed over the past years. So I actually don't think it is that serious
