I was convinced we were going to beat Ohio State as well. Oh well.
I said right after we beat Maryland, that we should have been rooting for top seeded Auburn to beat 4th seeded Ohio State in the other regional game. OSU had one of the few backcourts that could match Barkley and Bootsy, and they had the shotblocker Johnson, who turned us into a jumpshooting team (which we could do, but it wasen't the biggest strength of that team). I believed then, and I still believe now, that if Auburn had beaten Ohio State, then we would have gone to the Final Four, even with Auburn being the better seed.

I agree as much because of the match-up as the belief amongst fans and I believe the players that after Thursday Night we were going to the Final Four. Not sure the team was ready to play in the Regional Final.

Watching that clip and listening to the crowd gave me chills. I was out of town and missed that game. One of the few that I missed since being a season ticket holder that i regret missing.
One of the best

Yeah that was a good one. Wasn’t there some discussion about him stepping out of bounds? Pitt fans were whining. I believe that was an early game like 12 noon. Made for a very good day. I took my wife and son out for lunch after the game to a pub and the Pitt fans were miserable.

I remember staying up until my Dad returned from the Tennessee game. I was at the Syracuse game where we beat them 100-75 and Tom Weadock racking up a few points. Beating defending Nat'l Champs Mich. State in the 79 Lapchick final. I remember the electricity in AH for the Louisville game. And of course the Syracuse block/ charge travesty. I was at CM's first games and thinking we had a unique player.

Dwight's heel was above the out of bounds line, but off the ground and not touching it. Play was good.

1982-83 season, first game vs Georgetown was at MSG. They had beaten us three times the previous season. We went up at the half and never lost the lead in the second half. Kevin Williams fought and would not back down from Pat Ewing. Later that season in DC, we beat them again as both Billy Goodwin and Williams again fought with Ewing.

That game was absolutely outstanding but the one game I am shocked that no one has mentioned, excuse me if I missed it, was the opening of college ball that season in mid November 1982. The Redmen opened the college season against the defending national champs UNC with Michael Jordan, Sam Perkins, Matt Dougherty and 3-4 5 star recruits in Springfield Mass. I got up early that morning to travel to Port Authority and from there took the bus to Springfield. What a day as we won in OT on National TV, we were the only game on, and the entire country, and friends in Canada , saw us beat the defending national champs in a shocking upset to the beginning of a great season with a somewhat disappointing ending.

This was great, i was at that one. Williams standing up to Ewing is etched in my brain.

If my memory serves me correctly Curtis Redding fought another player. The other player was Kevin Williams. A broken bottle may have also been involved.

No particular order, the big three wins in person, Ron Rowan against Syracuse, Marcus Hatten against Duke, and the huge Pittsburgh win, all at the Mecca of College Basketball.

Also at the Mecca, but a L was the Artest overtime game against Duke, those kids left it all on the floor that afternoon.

Not remembering the details, but a Saturday night Garden win over a powerhouse Uconn team back in the day. That was pretty sweet.

I believe you're referencing the game during the 2001-2002 season. Hatten didn't shoot it well from the floor, but he still has big, scoring numbers. It was a Saturday night game.

That's one of my favorites, too. I came down from Boston (where I was attending college at the time) with a friend of mine, who was a UCONN fan, for that game. Calhoun got ejected from that game, a sequence that begins at around 14:25 of this video. It's the only time I can remember an opposing coach getting tossed against us. Ironically, the assistant who stepped in for him may be coaching his final high-major D1 game tomorrow night.

I have a long list of favorites:

Boo Harvey's game winner at Georgetown (first road game I remember going to).

Both times we beat Allen Iverson, when he was on Georgetown.

UCONN during Felipe and Zendon's senior year. A sign to the nation that we were back.

West Virginia at Alumni Hall later that same year. By far, the loudest I ever heard the place.

The Indiana and Maryland NCAA Tournament games in 1999.

The Big East Semifinal against Miami in 2000. A real crazy finish. Even though we beat UCONN for the championship the next night, after the Miami game, and Barkley almost leaving the team, the title game itself was somewhat anti-climactic.

My favorite game from Lavin's first year (maybe my favorite of all time) was the Duke win. It was a total annihilation (Duke made it respectable late, but it wasn't that close), and is really what kickstarted the late season run that year.

The Marquette, Villanova, and Seton Hall home games last year. Yes, the season ended badly, but I admit, I had a blast at those games.

That game had quite a few celebrities there. I remember athletes and rappers. Was that a game Clinton was at too?
When we beat Duke at Duke. Only a national title win will probably top that ever for me.
Yeah, that was the Bootsy game
