Hearing we could possibly have ten kids or so on campus next week. Sid Wilson, Andre Rafus & I believe Nate Pierre Louis have already indicated they will be there. Exciting times! Kudos to staff for working on 16 & 17 classes so aggressively while they conclude 15 efforts.

YES in deed. Hope we get some early commits

on topic thought: might be cool to take them to Belmont that day.

off topic hijack thread thought: Jarvis would be a great coach for that

Well since my original post got scooped up and out with the OT post, I will try again.

I have been away from the Board for a few days. So June 6th appears to be a big day for unofficial visits by players St. John's is recruiting. Any updates on other players we are recruiting who are planning to attend along with Sid Wilson, Andre Rafus and Nate Pierre Louis?

Really excited about this weekend of visits.

Also great to hear that we are getting most of these as unofficials, so we can still put on the fullcourt press later. Many of the other schools these kids are considering are so far away they probably won't make unofficial visits.

@GiveNGobball: Class of 2018 Sports U (NJ) players Jahvon Quinerly, Nazreon Reid & Louis King will all go on unofficial visits to St. John's this weekend.

Reid's name has been mentioned for a little bit, dont think ive seen Quinerly's name before. Both are studs.

@AdamZagoria: St. John's will host several Sports U players this weekend:
2017:
Nate Pierre-Louis
2018:
Atiba Taylor
Naz Reid
Louis King
Jahvon Quinerly

I can see value in 2016, but wouldn't commitments from these players be too early in the game, their availability so far in the future so much time for a change of heart...?

Agree.... Recently told a fellow poster the same thing. Even an '16 commitment could be too early at this point, considering they can't sign 'til November. But I'd certainly take a commitment from a '16, if he was willing to do so, as he'd be participating--at least--season from now.

It's still good to get these kids on campus, nonetheless.

A dividend is also establishing relationships with NY/NJ AAU programs & obviously getting to know kids early & vice versa. Nova on the latter does that well for example.

I think a big obstacle SJU fans must overcome is the anticipation of back breaking news. Afterall, we have been lulled into a false sense of security before.

It isn't easy to suddenly grasp the idea that the people in charge of the basketball program have a clear understanding of how to build a top program.

We all know the root of a successful business model is all about relationships. With that, it is exciting to witness this staff planting enough seeds to make vegans excited.

Gang, it is ok to smile and enjoy what is happening here. Instead of the other shoe, it may be a few shiny pennies from heaven that drop in our path.
