Big East Tournament Seeding

That engine is great. I inserted what I thought were most likely scenarios for non SJU games (an oxymoron in BE this year), one with SJU losing to Xavier and one with us winning. With Xavier loss it had us playing Gtown as 5th seed Thursday afternoon; with a win, had us playing Creighton as 3rd seed Thursday night. Win against Xavier puts us where we need to be.
As others have said, we need to speed up Xavier game by pressing; second part of that players have to be drilled to press but not reach for steals because press will collapse if we get in foul trouble early. Also Mullin should use his bench such that anyone who picks up a second foul in first half sits for rest of half.
 
its too early to even worry about this, the conference is a total mess with seeding's,

true, just totally frustrated with this team, a week ago we owned our own destiny now there are so many different scenarios, it crazy!
 
Me and the Mrs. have only missed one home game since Lavin became coach but we talked last night and it's Thursday or bust this year. I can't stomach another Wednesday night BE Tourney game.

The good news (?) is that Thursday seems likely win or lose this weekend.

Since Xavier lost last night to Butler, we have a clinch on third place if we beat Xavier Saturday and Georgetown loses at least one of its two remaining games (Depaul tonight and Marquette Saturday). Would not mind if Strus remained hot for one more game against Georgetown tonight. Third place would mean we play the late game on Thursday night in the BET.
 
I can't make Thursday night so if we beat Xavier and Georgetown wins out I will go to the afternoon session

For NC Johnnies sake, I hope they beat Xavier and get at least a win in the quarterfinals(should be enough to get in tournament). He planned a trip to come see the team and he deserves some positive results.
 
Thanks Andrew. I have bought tickets to both quarterfinal sessions so as long as Johnnies don't somehow wind up in Wednesday play-in game, I will be happy. I am also taking advantage of the trip to visit with my three daughters all of whom live in NYC metro area. Should be a great time. I'd love to see Johnnies win Thursday (whether in day or night session) but would be super disappointed if I didn't get to see them play because they lost play-in game. Thankfully odds of that look slim.
 
So TODAY, before the last few BE games, can someone answer this question: are we definitely not going to have to play Wednesday or depending on who wins and losses, can THAT STILL HAPPEN at this point????

I am trying to make plans for next week.

There is still a mathematical possibility that we could be playing Wednesday night. The picture will have more clarity after tonight's games involving other teams..
 
What seeds play at what times thursday ? I dont care what time we play I'm more curios to see what seeds play at 12 and 2:30
 
After tonight a 5 way tie for 3rd place at 8-9. Boy this league stinks. I can realistically see no team making it past the first weekend in the NCAA’s

We win = Top 6
We Lose, Villanova wins, the only way we fall to a 7 Seed is:
Butler over PC
GT over Marquette
DePaul over Creighton

If Seton Hall beats Villanova, we fall to a 7 or worse seed if:
Georgetown Win over Marquette
Georgetown Loss and Butler Win vs. PC + DePaul Win vs. Creighton

I believe I ran all scenarios...summary, let's beat Xavier and if we lose, root like hell for Nova and Marquette.
 
Not a lot of clarity after tonight's games. With victories by Creighton, Depaul, and Seton Hall there is now a five way tie for third place at 8-9.
We can finish anywhere from third to eighth after Saturday's games. That means Wednesday night, Thursday afternoon, or Thursday night are all possibilities.
Not a lot of clarity and makes it tough to buy tickets before Saturday.
