Much better 2nd half. Jones was an animal. Mussini played much better than of late.Ellison looked good,5 assists. Is Sima still injured, he looks like he regressed. These games are ridiculous w all the fouls called. Yakwe was so afraid of getting fouled he didn't put his hands up on many plays. Till next year.

I never for a moment, even after the Mvouika 3, thought we could win. Our play down the stretch has been awful in every winnable game. Don't think it was the staff, which is a good thing. Our guys just can't close. CJ played great for 38 minutes, then had 3 straight disastrous possessions in a one minute span. I think he proved that we can use him next season, but sure wish he made better decisions. In addition to a more defensive mindset, we need playmakers, especially for the end game. Good teams have them, we don't. Still appreciate every player. They tried hard, and represented the program and the university well.

I guess i should just be glad it's over, but the season was mostly like watching a George Chuvalo fight. It was painful just to watch and you mostly wanted to turn your head away.

"In the clearing stands a boxer..."

Beast, just for clarification, do those points count towards CJ's BE averages? ;)

We had moments every game that seemed like a Chuvalo fight, where we just absorbed brutal punishment for minutes on end. But in a sense it was more like watching a Chief Jay Strongbow match. We took an early beating, launched a late second half offensive, threw some nice tomahawk chops, did the Indian war dance, then got clotheslined in the last minute and got pinned.

Game may gave been life Chief Jay Strong now but the season was more like Frank Williams... the quintessential jobber

The first Depaul game gave us one more win than Frankie Williams had in his whole career.

Worst season in St. John's history?

The sexcapades season was bad, but atleast that was the walkons.
This was the regular players, so I'd say this year.

If the two game killing turnovers do.

Good for him to have a mostly really strong game.

As a counterpoint, the sexcapde said season was a year without hope. Not much talent, no leadership and real questions whether the program would recover.

We took our lumps this year, but at least we have reason to believe it will get better.

oh there's no doubt that it will get better, I think Mullin could do bigger things then Louie did here.

Hell of an effort offensively tonight. Unfortunate so many fouls were called (against both teams).

Had a brief conversation with Pervis Ellison after the game. (Very nice, and taller than I remember him being) Said he couldn't believe how bad the officiating was. Nor could I.

As for CJ, he may have made some bad decisions as the game was winding down, but I thought he looked great tonight. If it weren't for him, we would have lost by more than 20. As recently as three weeks ago, I wasn't leaning toward having him return next year, but from what I've seen recently -- and especially tonight -- I want him back 100%, especially given the lack of bulk of our other forecourt players.

2nd half was semi enjoyable. The ref's sucked and made a lot of it unbearable.

Would have liked the win but also glad the season is over. Jones played real good.

All I'm going to say is this. I can get over turnovers and I can get over missed shots and even missed ft's.

BUT whoever is responsible for teaching defense you flat out did a horrible job doing it and Mullin as our CEO needs to take a hard look at the moving parts of the program and needs to see what worked and what didn't work because an influx of talent won't be just the recipe for good defense. You need to teach these kids how to play defense and we sucked just as much the last game of the season as we did in the beginning of the season

No free passes next year and a lot of people need to do some soul searching and not just think influx of talent will solve everything because look at teams like LSU
