YyYou could be right. I guess I am mired in memory of falling so far behind & trying to claw back. I still think since we may be in Cooley's head a bit, getting up on PC early will rattle them. Wishful thinking perhaps. Btw, after trailing Butler by good margin last week, Dunn just took over the game & nearly got PC to winner's circle. He has that type of ability. Stud!3 years of futility.. we all know too well how difficult this tournament can be. The last time we won a single game I remember Brownlee was so excited he walked out of bounds with the ball when there was still 2 seconds left!
This is the time to turn around our Big East Tournament fortunes. Take nothing for granted and go for the jugular! PC ended our season last year in this same situation. Now its time to authoritatively sweep them and ensure our seniors go out with their heads held high under the bright lights at MSG
Spot on. Big momentum game! The games we won v PC this year we got out in front early. I saw several of their home losses where they repeated same pattern, polar opposite of what happened to SJU v PC last BE T game. Must get up on them & hang on.
Weren't we up like 21-10 last year in the BET and then choked for the rest of the game until the final five minutes? I recall us getting a good start and not stepping on their throat when we had the chance.
He nearly single handedly brought them back at MSG this year! We have to get on him. Rysheed your draft stock could rise by winning this matchup. Get it done !!!
Last year's BET Providence game unfortunately epitomized the season in many ways. Close, but lack of real team identity a big deterrent in capitalizing upon opportunity. We were up 29-22 with a little over five to play in the first and had a chance to get some real separation before half. Lavin turned substitutions into revolving door, when there was no reason to sub at all the way the 5 on the floor were playing, and Providence closed the half on a 14-4 run. Valiant effort in the second half after getting down as much as 17, but too little too late.
We had the Obekpa drama, and even with that 8 guys played double-digit minutes (SDP only 10!). Good depth, but never found a way to blend it into a consistent and cohesive rotation. Also often caught in the middle in terms of who the go-to guys were (Harrison, Sampson, Jordan).
None of those problems this year, obviously. Let's go Red!
I remember I had practice after school that day and checked my phone right before going the gym, and we were up by 11. I "went to the bathroom" like an hour later and found us down by 17. Obviously I gave up and after practice I see we only lost by like 5. So depressing. Then I went home and watched the game on DVR and started getting excited during the late run even though I knew the outcome lol. Then we were down by 3 and DLo clearly got fouled, man that game was so tough to swallow
