This group of seniors won 0 BE tourney games. Disgraceful. They have a shot of redeeming themselves. But ,by the way they looked their last 2 games, I'm not counting on it.

My glass half full view of the day. Maybe we will be the first team to win the NCAA tournament without winning a conference tournament game.

Judging by the way the team looked today, I wonder if there was something that went on before the game. What happened to DLO's eye? Balamou? Dom did not look right in warm ups.
Let's hope they have a short memory and can file this game in the circular file.

why do we get our hopes up every year in the BE tourney we crap the bed and go home like losers.. this is insane that we play a 1st half like this against a team we beat already and we go out and drop a load on our court now we come out and yo yo between 8 and 17 and lose then we say oh well we are in big dance NO we must do better then this it is a joke already

Aside from the obiouvs, that we shot poorly:

We got outrebounded, 42-32 which we've come to expect

BUT in our wins this season, we offset rebounding disadvantage with a commensurate edge in turnovers and steals.

Today we committed 12 TO to Providences 15, BUT they had 9 steals to our 4 - an aggregate advantage of +2 for Providence

Also despite playing 4 guards, they had 15 assists to our 7, so effective ball movement wasn't there.

Finally I don't see a stat for it, but our transition game sputtered.

That call on Dom for the fourth foul was disgusting. As a ref, you're main job is to let the kids decide the game. Giving Dom his fourth with 13 minutes left on a phantom call took away our chance to win. Just swallow the damn whistle.

I don't believe in the quote, 'let the kids decide the game'. As a ref, your main job is to be the ref, and call fouls when you see them. If a game is tied, and a player drives to the hoop with 3 seconds to go, and is actually fouled, it is the refs job to call that foul. You could say, let the players decide the outcome. However, if a kid does foul at the end of the game, he is deciding the outcome of that game. He decided/chose to foul...and therefore, is deciding the outcome of the game.

You don't believe in letting the actual players decide the outcome of the game? Are you kidding?

The ref's job is extremely hard and a task I don't envy, but you only make a call like the one made on Dom when you absolutely have to.

Refs do research for games as well..it's part of their job. They know player tendencies and the importance of certain guys to the team. You take away Dom pointer for a phantom call with 13 minutes remaining, you are taking away our chance to win. You better be damn sure he made that foul...same goes for most players with their fourth foul. We were down pretty big too...it's just a horrible, horrible call and they had the opportunity to review it and pass it off to Jordan--which makes it even worse.

I'm sorry, you guys know that I try to stay neutral, but this game was inexcusable. A team of seniors that never won a BE tournament game talked for days to the press and no showed. I love these kids, but sometimes you have to call a spade a spade, our boys are way too comfortable quitting. That falls on them and the head coach. I hope for their sake they fight like men in their next game, it very well be their last at this level

I'm not sure about the most critical, but I do agree that excuse is weak. The fans for non local schools took off from work to come to the games. I took off from work to go to the games. Why can't other local fans do the same?

I hate to single out 1 play, but there was a point in the 2nd half where St. John's was down by 10 and the crowd was turning. Obekpa then proceeded to miss a wide open layup and Henton got a three point play on the next possession.

I also find it harder to root for Chris. While he continues to improve his game (no one other than Sir'Dom has improved more) he's becoming a dirtier player and as a result less reliable
