Ten minutes of hell, 30 minutes of "what the hell".Isnt that Mike Anderson's ONLY philosophy and the ONLY thing he coaches. 3 hard minutes , rock fight. Say what you want about Mullin but St. Jean really did try and coach that team!
My favorite SJU game everOops, was referring to win at Duke w Bootsy killing it
IiRC Lundardi notes that we need the win or we're out. And NOT, we win and we re in. 2 separate categories.A lot of past SJ induced anxiety & disappointment can be washed away tomorrow! After Lunardi said we need to beat Hall to make NCAAT it made me more nervous. To come this far we really need to win and make it. Would be so deflating to go through the wild rollercoaster & not make it. Need 110% effort & laser focus as a team.
Mike im actually picking up a friend at the garden city hotel around that time if you want a lift I've got a driver set up for the day. PM meSullys is his spot. I might not be on a train till1 or so. I’ll know tomorrow morning I’m walking to the mineoka station near my office
He hardly takes any threes and he hasn't been draining any 3's lately. The most in a game he's taken is five (March 6th versus Villanova) in which he went 2-5.Not true he has been draining them lately. He will take & make if we back off.
You da man that would be awesome ! ThanksMike im actually picking up a friend at the garden city hotel around that time if you want a lift I've got a driver set up for the day. PM me
People deal with the fear of losing in different ways. The method you are replying to I call "The Zaun"He hardly takes any threes and he hasn't been draining any 3's lately. The most in a game he's taken is five (March 6th versus Villanova) in which he went 2-5.
Here's a look at Richmond's stats behind the arc in his last 10 games....
not the worst strategy... I place an investment on the opposing team... i look at it as "Paying" for a Win...To combat this, you hype up the opponent, make the game sound like a David v Goliath matchup. That way, if the loss does happen, you have prepared yourself mentally AND get to come back on here and play the "I told you so" game.
Hey I am not saying it is a bad strategy, I definitely use it during the Jets season lolnot the worst strategy... I place an investment on the opposing team... i look at it as "Paying" for a Win...
I don't know why but I have a good feeling about this game. Just remember, this is a different team after Pitino called them out. They've adjusted nicely.I just can't shake the feeling that the most St John's thing to do is get out to a decent start, have a brutal stretch in the middle where everybody essentially counts you out, storm back at the end to reel people back in with some hope and then crush their spirits by falling short in devastating fashion.
Applies to individual games (home v Marquette this year), applies to seasons.
