Baylor

Baylor would beat Murray St by 20+. They really hit the lotto getting Colorado instead of them. I wish some luck would go our way for once. We always seem to play right along with ranked teams all game, only to fall just short in the last few minutes. Zona, A&M, Duke, now Baylor. In all of them until very late, and no luck to push us over the top and win.
 
The score does not reflect the game. I hope we get some respect in the rankings.
 
We're going to be good come big east time...we have the pieces...need some more games under their belts...

Hindsight will be 20/20. Marco got eligible and if the situations are similar, then there's no reason to think Sanchez wouldn't. Now if Borgault was ruled ineligible and then Gift was still sitting, they they would have a problem.

And rightfully so - they see parts we have playing and the pieces yet to play (branch and hopefully sanchez).

We'll do some damage in the Big East.
 
I don't expect SJU to lose again before Big East play. Maybe South Carolina but I doubt it.

The talent is there, especially against their schedule.
 
So far this season , we look like a decent 35 minute team.. I've said this over Lavin's 3 years here, is that his zone defense has trouble containing any team's 3 point shooter.. This was triply reinforced this tournament. I think his defense is fundamentally flawed, if you do not have a 6'10-7'0 shot blocking center.

Awful loss of composure vs Baylor in the last few minutes.. lots of work still to be done here.

We won't get any. To most people they look at the score and see a blowout. Even though we know we played right with them until the final 2 minutes, we lost. This is why I can't buy into all the "elite 8" and "top 5 big east" hype until we actually prove we can beat ranked teams more than once a year. If even 2 of the cupcakes beat us coming up, we go right back to being forgotten about.

We lost to a better team twice down there.
I can live with that.
 
Not going to get too crazy about this game. It's a long season. Rebounding issues are painfully obvious

Harrison better get his act together. This is getting old.

More interested in how they look in January.

Trite but true: Can't teach experience.
 
You get nearly doubled up in rebounds but play a poker game with the NCAA to save one scholarship. Unbelievable.

3 point defense and rebounding did us in at this tournament.
 
Agreed. There was no reason to think that they would beat Murray State AND Baylor. I thought they could Murray State and lsoe in the title game to Baylor or at worst lose to Muray State and then beat whoever for third.
 
How will we do damage in the Big East other than DePaul, Providence, Rutgers, and SH? We lost to Murray State who would lose to a decent amount of Big East teams, and we turned a very competitive game into a 20 pt loss vs. Baylor before we could blink. If this team is going to do some serious damage in the Big East, I'll believe it when I see it. You know the saying wish it, want it, do it? Time to stop dreaming and do it already. New York is a put up or shut up town. Can we really beat the G'Town's, Nova's, Cincy's, Marquette's, etc? We will find out.
