I hope that young Jack Williams enjoyed the game. I miss his post game reviews as he was an excellent poster with knowledge of the game beyond his years. Whether as Jack or somebody else I hope to see him post more as the season goes on. Greetings Jack and best of luck.
Thank you for the kind words, 72. I did enjoy the game and am very excited for this season. Although I heard some reports we got roughed up by Rhode Island, I still think we can be a good team this year. I am excited to attend the home opener Friday night and I hope we start 1-0.
In regards to the Baruch game, I thought it was an enjoyable game to watch. It is fun to have two talented guards such as Ponds and Lovett running around, fighting for steals, running the floor. I think with them their biggest thing is going to be consistently hitting 3s. Everyone knows their abilities to dribble and drive effectively, but if they can not make an outside shot, defenders will back off a bit and slashing will be more challenging.
It was also great to see Mussini be able to spot up in the corner with that sweet jumper and get open looks. His days of getting harassed in the backcourt by defensive pressure for nearly 35 minutes a night appear to be over.
This is one of those seasons where we have some "cupcakes" on our schedule in the non conference, but this is also a young team, so every game can not be overlooked. If we can land in Atlantis an undefeated team, that'd be a huge huge win for us as a team. That requires a road win against Minnesota and a couple "cupcake" wins. Hope it all works out, hope everyone is doing well, I will be back to posting as the season is officially back!!
