Bahamas Tourney

For all who are going, ThaKid has gone to Bahamar 2x previously since over the last few years...they have one of the best whiskey bars I've ever been to - the Manor Bar - and the smoked old fashioned is literally out of this world - you can taste the smoke in every sip. I'm sure it also cost like $25 a cocktail but after we all win huge amounts at the casino betting on the Johnnies, we should be flush for the bar!

Thakid has grown up into the Thaconnoisseur.

Kid, do they have outside restaurants around there or did you do all your meals at the hotel?

I sure hope things have improved since the last time the team went down there.
Our flight was delayed out of JFK for about 8-10 hrs. We had to feed the travel party 3 times ( and all the staff families that traveled with us) just waiting for our plane to arrive. It finally showed up around 11pm. We arrive in the Bahamas around 2 am and Customs was closed as was most of the airport. The local police let the team through without the usual check points. Then the airport had to scramble to find people to unload the baggage from the plane at that late hr. After another hr of waiting we then found out that the local tournament committee forgot to call the bus charter company with our late arrival time. No bus. We then called The Atlantis hotel and they sent out a small airport bus. We put the players and one coach in it and off they went for the long drive to the hotel. Two hrs later we finally all got to the hotel after numerous trips. But still no luggage or team gear. The team was all spread out throughout that large hotel.
Finally around noon, we received all our baggage and woke up the players. And Mullin and staff decided to cancel our practice that day. What a journey! It happens that this was new AD Anton Goff's first trip with the team. A foreshadowing of his time with us maybe.
