Attendance and Atmosphere

I was at the game today and was a little surprised that the ESPB box score has the attendance at 10,670. There must have been a lot of empty chairs masquerading as fans. I can't believe that there were more than 5,000 fans in attendance, and I can't believe they were counting tickets sold. It must have been a typo. I have to say thought, that the building was in shock as a 20 point lead in the second half was whittled down to 4 late in the game. Give credit to the student section for getting the crowd into it late in the game.
You are right that I didn't need to make the comment about the glasses or intoxication, I was intoxicated when I wrote that. However, I am still in shock about the announced attendance, I know that you can't ever believe those totals (see Mets announced attendance for most of last year) but I was embarrassed by the showing for Senior Day. There was nobody in the building for Sanchez, Gift and Marco when they were celebrated about 15 minutes before the game. At least they could personally hear me yelling for them I guess. The game should have been at Carnesecca even though my back would have hurt from the horrible seats. We have people commenting that were not there(for example, Class of 72) that think we had a large crowd when most of the people actually there would have to admit the real crowd was pretty small. :cheer:

There was absolutely close to 10K...there were fans in lower bowl end zones and 2nd tier center...
No offense, but you need better glasses or were heavily intoxicated. There was nowhere close to 10k. Yes, there were a few people in end zones and second tier but huge amounts of empty seats through almost every section. I was near center court on first level where the largest percentage of people sit and there were rows of missing people and many gaps. The student section was almost empty.

You may be right...many season ticket holder seats were empty but there absolutely were way more than 5K...On an unrelated note, stuff your comments about needing better glasses or being heavily intoxicated

Absolutely 10,000 fans there today.

Sunday afternoon game football is over; last game. 50 percent off tickets, civil service day, all added up.

No issues..figured you were just being sarcastic to make a point

The 10k seemed to be slightly more than the actual number. However, the Georgetown crowd seemed to be higher than the 10k that was reported.

I'd like to see a family friendly ticket package with kids under 16 at least half off the per ticket charge.
