Assistant Coaches

Hoping we wrap up the staff within the next few days so we can start focusing on what our roster will look like next year. Exciting times ahead!

He had all last week to think about it, so he probably knows by now what he wants to do.
I'd say if he comes then we'll know the latest by Tuesday. Why keep stalling if he wants to come?

I agree that he's likely had enough time to know what he's going to do, but I'm not sure if Tuesday is too early or not. How quickly do teams have postmortem meetings? Did Kentucky already go home, or did they stick around to watch the final game? (I would stay if I were coaching, but not sure how common it is.)

@GoodmanESPN: With all the NBA guys hired recently, a guy college athletic directors need to look at is Ed Pinckney. Was a relentless recruiter at Nova.

Ewing should learn to read before he starts applying to be a head coach anywhere.

Necessary man?

Agree.... Those things were said about Ewing when he was in college. It was only said for racial reasons. I have a feeling Paultz took it the same way, as he's probably well aware of what Ewing had to go through when he was in college.

Patrick Ewing left it all on the court for this city every night. He was a true warrior and a great example of how the game should be played. We could use players who care as much about winning and represent the city as well as Patrick did. Chris was built out of the same mold. I hope Chris can find players and assistant coaches with the same type of desire and commitent. This will be key in bringing this program back.
Probably the most underappreciated NY superstar of all time (perhaps goes beyond just NY)

He made his own bed. No doubt he gave his all with the Knicks but his personality sucked.

@DanWetzel: Smart move by new Fordham coach hiring asst Tony Chiles to shore up NYC recruiting. Local talent key to the program

You know, this possibility actually crossed my mind. Good for tony.

Glad Tony got a job quick. Always had the feeling he was out working his butt off

So when can we expect any announcements to be made regarding the coaching staff?

The fact that nothing has been announced yet has to be a good sign in terms of Slice and Pinckney, right?

With all the work coming up on recruiting front, I'd be surprised if another coach is not added this week.

I have no idea time wise and as long as Paultz has a NY pizza avatar I'll feel good but personally if I was AD or Mullin I wouldn't want to make the announcement today or tomorrow because of all the Championship news. I'd want to do it on wed or thursday when the news cycle slows down. Thets when I expect to see the Iowa St kid announcement too

Would hope, but we'll see.

I'm shocked that is the best Tony can do.

If he wanted to stay local this probably was the best he could do.

If he does well there he can probably get a higher paying gig with the next Seton Hall staff.
