I don't think Reggie Williams, Horace Broadnax, Gene Smith and David Wingate liked him too much. If they did that was a terrible way to treat someone you liked.

In reality I feel that $1.5 million is a much fairer salary than the reported $2 million. He could have used a little of what he left on the table to pay for my kleenex.

I was Tarik Turner's backup story.

In actuality, I went there yesterday mostly because I felt compelled to be there, like an obligation, Sunday mass or something.

I didn't feel any of the same emotion like some of you have expressed. (Okay my voice cracked on Sunday when I told my wife Chris was getting the job). Mullin's presentation of what he was going to do was so purposeful, so confident, so forceful that I felt more emboldened than teary. Here in the arena were some of the best players who ever put on a uniform here, not because they were being honored, but because they were attending the renaissance - ground zero in the FULL restoration of our program.

I left a little devoid of emotion, but with a sense of confidence that we are back, and that anyone who takes us lightly from this point forward are in for a surprise. No more Pitino making false gratuitous comments about us. No more Boeheim making nice statements about how far we've come, and how so-and-so is a good coach. These type of coaches will show their fangs, because SJU is going to be back full force, and when they stop saying falsely nice things you will know we are a force to be reckoned with. It's coming, it's coming. Just give Mullin & co a little time.
 
... I gotta bet Mullin is NOT going to live in NYC, and will live fairly close to campus, probably on LI. Forget about music blaring in the gym at odd hours into the night, which I'm sure will happen. The sweetest sounds will be the sounds basketballs on hardwood, sneakers squeaking, and the best sound of all, the ball swooshing through the nets late into the night. It's gonna happen.

some great towns close to Jamaica in Nassau...hope he moves to my town. Ran into him at my local deli years ago with his son....such a great humble guy....became MORE of a fan if thats possible. Asked him about SJU and he stayed and talked, introduced his son to strangers too. Says a lot about him. So pumped for us. Go Johnnies!!!
 
two names just came to my mind of great X/Os guy to consider...after Slice and Pinkney of course...How about Bobby Cremins or PJ Carlesimo ?
man this is fun....Im sure Mully will choose the best guys but this is fun..
hope to hear more and more exciting news as days pass....

I guess I would be inclined to go with Chris Mullin's opinion over his, not knowing much about Pinkney's coaching ability.

PMG followed up by saying it's because he wants Slice. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
 
speaking of Legit big men who are coaches now, would it be crazy if Pinkney is out to get Ewing ? I know at first that sounds crazy and I don't know his relationship with Mully, but was there a better big man? How would that go along with our recruiting ?

I think he means with Slice and Abdel has the recruiting part down, maybe would want 3rd guy to be a George Blaney type guy.

BTW I believe PMG is friendly with Terence for what that is worth.

I would like to see Chris in a nice house in Queens. Jamaica Estates, Douglaston, Little Neck or Bayside. I would be fine with Ewing. He was great with the Knicks and boy he could work with the Diallo's of the world.
