Assistant Coaches

How about Wennington to coach the bigs :lol: If we get Abdelmissah them maybe Chris pulls in one of his nba buddies (ala Lavin) or one of high school coaches in the area.

I know everyone is down on Pecora, but he was a good assistant under Wright, and was once high on the SJU list. Not being able to turn around Fordham doesn't exactly disqualify you from being a capable assistant.
 
So, when can we expect Matt (and hopefully Diallo after) to come and make it official? Could be any time correct?

I agree, QV guy and he knows the area.
 
He's gonna have an NCAA champion big man on his staff who also sat next to Jay Wright for a few years. Why does he need anyone else to coach the bigs?

+1. I hope Pickney takes the job. He's built up quite a bit of cosching experience in the last decade or so.

I agree, I happen to really like TP. I think it would be good for him to get a fresh start but also he has tremendous connections to the Tri-State coaching scene alas Severe, Paschall, Frazier, and the German kid Sengfelder he snagged has been terrific.

I'm sure it's tough coming from HC to to assistant, but he's got to restart somewhere and get back on the horse to being another HC.

To my knowledge he is extremely well liked among HS coaches, and is legitimately an all time good guy.
 
I was probably one of the biggest anti pecora to coach here people 5 years ago. I liked him at hofstra though. I'd be fine with him as an assistant and yeah he is a nice guy

I wouldn't be surprised if Pecora's buyout terms preclude him from taking a position with a school as close to Fordham as SJU.

Interesting how negative the tone is about Matt. He's a legend on this board, but ISU fans' thoughts on him range from useless to okay/solid.

"He has signed 2 HS recruits since he has been here. Sledge and Okoro. Sledge now plays DII ball and Okoro now averages 2 points in 7 minutes for the worst team in the Big 10. How in the hell does that equate to a top notch college recruiter? He hasn't beat out any schools for any recruit since he has been at ISU. Not one."

I think we are hyping him too much on our end, but I also think he's better than they give him credit for.

Would not be available until after Bulls season is over, no? Well after prime live period.

Still dont see the appeal in this for Ed despite friendship with Chris. Would think he'd at least have his pick of NBA assistant openings coming off highly regarded TT's staff.
